You are amongst friends. Tell us, how does that make you feel?

Nervous, hopeful, and determined. I had wanted a quattro, but I know this car is C928 LHK which has long since lurked on the internet. Being a Sport the value should rise equivalent to the quattro, so unlike the Rover I am not trapped with it unable to sell it (except to Skizzer🤣). I am excited to finally scratch that B2 bug (ok the quattro is a B2 but it is something very different) and while it hasn't got the 5 pot, the 4-pot is a much more sensible engine to have. However there are a few annoying things like bits of missing door trim and a respray that may or may not be the right colour I do not know, but fingers crossed.

My aim will be to make it look totally OEM again, a lot of these cars are made up to look like cruisers, but I want mine to look like it would be bought by a Scientist, as they were originally aimed at. Probably.

Overall now, while I am trying to be very sensible and practical with it, It will hit me when I bring it home I am sure. By that time, as the Passions once brilliantly put, I will be In Love with a German Film Star. Hopefully...

I had a 1986 Coupe GT with the 4 pot 1.8 and it was a fucking brilliant car. I always regretted getting rid of it.

An aircooled Tatra V8 diesel in this, it’s also 8x8 and amphibious too which makes a 4x4 look decidedly unprepared for things.

16 grand and doesn’t go, like, so it’s not an obvious candidate for family runabout

Is it ULEZ exempt??? please say YES!! imagine the fun dropping this outside the HOP and letting that diesel sing, and choke everyone in a 1/2 mile radius, just to show how stupid the ULEZ is !!!!

Mk IV Continental.  This car is so classy it's got Roman numerals in its name.

Nowadays, pimps have no imagination; they drive a black 4x4 with huge chrome wheels and tinted windows. The more adventurous will have a floor length, white fur coat and some ostentatious jewelry, but where's the flair? And where are the flares?

Back in the '70s, superfly guy was rollin' low in a 2 door Lincoln with hidden headlights, a trunk lid shaped around the spare tire and opera windows in the C pillar.

Mid ‘80s Honda Civic.  I’d forgotten how boxy these things were; they make a Volvo 240 look like a Bugatti Atlantique

Been for sale for about two years now with the price not budging. Determination is admirable.

I would imagine it is ULEZ exempt but either way it may be the cheapest way in to Tatra ownership these days. Definitely would. Obviously, I wouldn't really as I don't have the gonads but if I was braver I would. I've seen videos of Tatra truck racing and those engines not only sound amazing but the clag is epic.

Pocket-money Princess: when did you last see an MoT'd Wedge for £1500?? Comes with the rare distinction of being spotted by me (on different wheels) a couple of years ago. Lovely.

That is worryingly close to me. I am not responsible enough to guarantee that I won't buy it

Everything looks better on rostyles - even if those will be totally the wrong offset for fwd

Offset of MGB rostyles is not that different to BL's fwd offerings of the 70s & 80s.  Hence their common usage on Allegro (where I have to admit I don't like the appearance), Maxi, Princess, Ambassador and even my own Maestro van!
