Ooff, such a good color for that gen Town car. Arches usually don't rot and they were most likely on the car since it arrived at the dealer. I'd be more worried about the vinyl top long-term.

What is that silver box to the left of the wiper motor, a replacement air blower/heater or a CB radio?

Also that fuel pump will leave you stranded. Edit it has no Jubilee clips!

Possibly an old part of radio equipment, it looks like an antenna plug on the side, has vent holes. Did some valve car radios come in two boxes, part in the dash, part elsewhere?

The heater won’t work too well without it’s fan and ducting…

Yes. That's what made me think it was a blower motor. It's got some odd stuff going on like a series 6 steering wheel, black interior with black bench seat and a baking tray for a battery tray.

I wonder if it was a funeral/ambulance car with the black interior. The very last of the Series 6 Oxfords were ambulance cars, with black interiors only but separate seats no bench seats.

That's oh so tempting. I really do think the term survivor is overused but most drivers have surely been bought by a VAG botherers who have ruined them by shoving a 20v 1.8t in them and slamming them with stretched tyres. So I'd happily call that a survivor, cos it is.

Been thinking of something smoll to have since not doing much distance these days, and always loved Smarts...

Image 01 - 2004 Smart ForTwo Cabrio - 67,000 miles

EML is on, which they say is potentially due to rotted exhaust around the sensor...if it had a longer MOT I'd be tempted if it was cheap enough!

I've never seen a carb/intake layout like that before!

Definitely an interesting one. With old American V8s I always expect them to just be sitting in the valley.

They had the same layout on some of the Chrysler 300 letter cars

think it’s something to do with the way the torque is delivered at low rpms , my brother told me years ago

Yes, AFAIK that's right, it's called a Cross-Ram inlet.  When I was first model-building in the 60s it was one of the options on my Airfix-MPC 1/25 1966 Dodge Charger.

@eddyramrod beautiful but also a touch too expensive

Absolutely, but HFM?  It had better be the best example on the planet for that!
