Imagine putting that into your local BMW dealer for a routine* service....

I went to the golf yesterday. If you had a BMW (or Mini or RR) you got to park in a special car park for free.

I wonder if this would have qualified?

No BMW Chod unfortunately (I was really hoping that someone would rock up in a badly beaten 1994 316 compact)

I can already see some typical 480 issues with this (idling a bit low, infocentre not working or very dark, the obvious rusty wheel arches) and that sunroof is usually something I'd recommend to avoid as they are often just another cause of water leaks.  Brilliant cars though...

Yes all that really looks salvageable are the rear lights and the interior, that one looks like trouble

This is very appealing, tidy looking Escrot MK2 1100L for £6500. Of course the foglights, rear spoiler, and black back-panel are not stock, but the price is very reasonable:

Fuck me, that's been in the wars a bit. But a C3 100CS 5-pot was a cut above the other C3 100s. The only things better than that were the 200 / 200 Quattros. And if by "factory wheels in the boot", the seller means these:

p3240546edit.jpg

the original Fuchs alloys, then the wheels alone are worth having - they also look well on the B2 Ur-Quattros.

Pity it's in Gainsborough, otherwise I'd be tempted to go and have a look.... This looks like a job for @Spurious

Oh god don't tempt me. In the comments he's a bit arsey about what the reserve is, wonder what he wants for it (probably too much).

I'm seeing the value creep up in these now. They were sub 2k cars in good nick at one point but like everything recently, everything's on the up.

But those alloys are delightful.  5 bolt too. Wonderful.

When I get a garage (soon) I'll be on the look out for a 4x100 version of these.

There weren't many CSs sold here (I only ever saw one when they were available new), and they were the only ones to get the all-red shaded tail light lenses.

Like the 200s, they also had 5-bolt hubs.

In 1972 this would have been 50 years old, the equivalent of a J-reg Mk1 Escort now.

Get a Ford 16v Zetec or a Vauxhall red-top in there m8.  And a rubber boot spoiler.

It's a bit crinkled, but otherwise this £1000 205 TD looks absolutely GR12 I reckon. Got the nice wheels, big sliding glass sunroof, presumably quite a plush interior (no pics sadly)

I haven't looked up the MoT history or owt, and it doesn't have a test at the mo but I dunno, it just gives me a really good 'vibe' for some reason. Reckon you could just drive it home and it would work forever with zero upkeep for the rest of time. Looks so cool too!

That's astonishing. I haven't seen a Mk1 since about 1997. It looks really cheap to me, plus it's local. Would be infinitely improved by fitting the proper early wheels and ditching those spot lamps

Yeah its surprising how old the model is. Nah I would keep the spotlights, unless I could find a bona fide period correct pair, they are one of the few mods I think work well. Plus, in this age of Audis with white dwarf stars on the front, got to fight back somehow

Please someone here buy this and roffle it before a trader has it back on ebay at triple the price.

Not in my price range, but very tasty looking Escrot 1300L 4 door:

1 owner, 19,000 miles from new.

I feel this is an odd one, an Escort with low miles one owner etc etc that’s not worth any more than any other solid shell, because it’s a 4 door.  No one wants to collect 1100 drum braked 4 door escorts. A basic immaculate Avenger, Viva, Toledo,or ADo16 is far more desirable to collectors. Escorts are only worth silly money if they’re 2 doors, people only buy 4 doors and estates because they can’t afford a 2 door , if you’ve got £14,000 to play with to buy a base for your RS/ Fast and Furious lookalike you’d buy a 2 door and do a bit of welding ,originality has no meaning in the world of non -AVO , non -RS Fords

Someone will disprove this theory and show me a £25k 4 door 1300e or something.
