One of my dream vehicles is for sale now in Germany. This is the workhorse of the GDR the  Fortschritt ZT-323A which apart from a bad paint  job And unoriginal exhaust and and missing its engine covers looks good.

On the one hand, I have no space and not enough time for the cars I already have, and nor do I have any particular use for a 90s barge. On the other, I fucking adore Safranes and this one is 10 miles away from my house.

No. I must resist the temptation, I have no space. None. No space at all. If the rest of you could remind me of this for the next 7 days I'd be grateful - or better yet, someone buy it so I don't have to. :D

Seems to be an export model of the Prince Skyline, very rare indeed

I got super excited - thinking that it really was a Prince Skyline. As you say, it seems to be a bastardisation made for the export market.

For those that don't know, originally the "Skyline" wasn't actually a Nissan thing at all, it was a company called Prince. They made a crappy model in the 1950s but in 1964, someone decided to lengthen it and throw their 2 litre engine in and start racing them. If you find a 1964/5 model, you'll be minted, because only 100 were ever made under homologation rules.

From what I have been able to find this Norwegian thing was a dutch import, they seem to have had a lot of odd stuff over there, and of course there is Finland who got Hakosuka's new

Ooh, I forgot the Finns do love a performance road car.

Did they get them in LHD too then? (I've only ever seen RHD - we get a few of them turn up to the Japanese events like Simply Jap, Japfest and so on).

I absolutely love old Jap shite. Having a "modern classic" (I'm still unconvinced it's a thing, even though I buy the magazine and everything), we get proper classics rock up at the shows. Not just the usual Nissan "Z"s, but Mk1 Celicas, Datsun Fairladies and so on.

As a child of the 70s, I thought that the Japanese were way behind the cars that were more generic like the Fords, big old Volvos, BLs and so on. As I've got older, my view has completely changed and I think they were under-rated. I've always had love for 70s VWs (I mentioned elsewhere I used to collect the brochures as a family friend who worked for VW used to bring them as soon as they were released, or sometimes, pre-release).

For reasons I do not understand, 1950s Opel cars are not worth that much. So this one has appeared for sale not far from me and is tempting but i have never driven a car from the 1950s and they are probably awful to drive? And not something one wants to own/use?

1956 Opel Rekord in good condition except that the brakes do not work.

Aren't these supposed to be a pile of shite? Handle like a wibbly wobbly jelly with quite a few electrical gremlins IIRC.

I toyed with them when I bought my current convertible and wondered why they were so cheap.

All cars of that age that generation that had their their roofs chopped off are a bit wibbly.  If you take it as a bit of cheap convertible fun with a nice engine and a smooth slusher gearbox rather than a sports car I'm sure it'd be most enjoyable.
