If that's a 1962 registered car then the A suffix plate is presumably a replacement and as such might be non-transferable, so if someone's buying it to plate rape it they might be disappointed.

[/LightBulbFun]

indeed thats a replacement plate for a suffix-less plate from before they gave proper age related plates to Pre 1963 vehicles robbed of their original plate, so its already been robbed of its plate once before!

however being a suffix replacement registration it is most likely transferable if someone wanted to do (however the resulting 3 number 3 letter age related plate it would get to replace AAL999A wont be transferable, xxxXVP is the current 1953-1962 age related plate series issued at time of writing for those curious)

AFAIK only replacement english non suffix/prefix, Q Prefix and QNIxxxx registration marks are non transferable

everything else is transferable, no matter how many times you rob something of its plate

its always fun when I come across a Moped belonging to some personalised plate company and it has a few hundred previous registration marks :)

I'd forgotten that's what these plate companies do. I just have a vision of a load of Honda Expresses in a container somewhere.

Wait, so they've got a bunch of mopeds somewhere that they just use as temporary storage/holders for fancy numberplates ?

They must have storage units full of them. That's bizzare.

Yep! easy and cheap to tax and get through an MOT too I imagine is one of the other factors for using em

someone of them even used a Northern Ireland  AC Model 70 to generate themselves some cheap ageless plates (which is how I initially found about this practice LOL!)

I thought this specific tool would only show the last 10 previous registration numbers of a vehicle but I was just double checking that with a known registration mule moped and erm nope it will display more then 10!

(so thats good, that tells me WOI4001 is indeed likely that Model 70's original  number)

and here is said Moped LOL

(and this is only some of them, I have another tool which tells me its had 158 total registration marks LOL but that one does not work for NI vehicles so I cant use it to double verify the above Model 70 sadly)

.....until you read the MoT history up to 2016. It managed to fail at first time of asking in almost every year.

Dunno what's worse: the asking price (salty), the potential fail list this time round, or the fact it's on the Isle of Wight.

I like this a lot. Not a bad price for a dealer I suppose but still on the high end even for these after price hikes. At least for me and my budget. But then classic dealers aren't usually in a rush to sell and price accordingly to get top dollar. Superb colour though.

A 1990 Galant  in remarkably good nick, and a very fair price. GR9 for FOTU etc.

I wonder what @worldofceri would quote to transport that to about 12 miles north of Aberdeen.

Asking for a friend.

No really. I live in Aberdeen itself, it's not for me (but it does look nice).

Sorry, but it looks to me like the kind of wob-job, spray and polish that lots of minis got 20 - 30 years ago that probably didn't make it through their next mot.

OK, I might just have to bid. Lack of engine is slightly scary.... though.

Is the windscreen all there? It may just be a trick of the light or maybe someone has wiped the dust off part of it

It's there but it's not looking good!

You can phone Autoglass though (then listen to them laugh like drains in the background).

...or he may just have borrowed someone's car park to take pics in.

The only other car item he's currently flogging is the central pad of a Primera steering wheel.....

I dont know how hard it would be to get a V5 for this but a clean Caddy Fleetwood for 750 quid sounds like a deal to me...

Listing says 1999, it's more like a 1991 model; no paperwork (what, none at all?); and no feed from the fuel tank.  Not promising.

Watchlisted, obvs!
