The colour - from my research - is called PEAT BROWN.  Didn't he used to do a Soul Show on BBC GLR?

It is absolutely fantastic.  I know @Skizzeris a metro fan!  I wonder how much they'd actually sell it for before Auction End?

I am a Metro fan, and a launch spec 1.3S in metallic brown is about perfect.

It needs quite a lot of love though. I’ll chip in money and remote encouragement if someone steps up, but that’s about it as I have no more space and too many projects already. I wish it were not so, but it is.

I quite like that miniMETRO but it is a £500 car in my book.

I remember my uncle had a really early bASe which was on a W or X reg. Predated the City.  Black vinyl seats,  1 mirror, no reverse lights.

It died after he drove it 150 miles with the oil pressure light on.

I think the days of them being a £500 are long gone, tbh, especially an early and half decent one.

Oddly I had a quote for SA to UK shipping just yesterday
"The cost of a space in a shared container to London Gateway is currently around R29500 ( includes all clearances, permits, packing and freight)"

I will agree SHIP > SHIPLEY by many times but it is much less than I expected, or I'm at risk of getting scammed....

I have no idea on the shipping costs but if you are buying a South African DS make sure it is one that has a higher value like a late model DS23IE Pallas or, if there are any left, a Slough car that will be worth £40k plus when restored.

Unusual to see any version of the Cunter that isn't being driven by a 'tree specialist'.

I'd recommend watching this before importing anything. Some of the video is Alfa specific, but it all applies to most cars. It's quite an interesting insight into the SA Classic car export industry.

Thanks for that. Interesting video. I looked into importing an early Range Rover from South Africa a few years ago and this would have been interesting to see at the time. I didn't do it in the end, mainly because of concerns that the video addressed

I’m lucky enough to have driven one of these, albeit only about ten yards onto my trailer and then off again. I’m normally a bit ‘whatevs’ about supercars and ‘proper’ classics as I know I will never afford one, but I was quite taken by the Espada. I could see myself smoking around in one, (wrongly) thinking I look awesome.

I just love the way  that the roof of the Espada is as low as the roof of the car towing it even though it's sat on a trailer. 😄

Polonez is back, purple paint a glistenin'

This grabs a hold of me tightly

My harpoon would bum this nightly

Will it ever stop... i don't know

And with a 1.4 does it even go?

That will be terrifying to drive. Without major reconstruction (like the Hyabusa engined Bond Bug) it will be an accident just waiting to happen. At the first bend encountered.

Yes!  I though that too, although I didn't really notice until posting the pic on here.

By my reckoning an Espada must be only a shade over 1m tall then...

My mate had one in his paintshop in primer as it was there for a complete respray. I can't remember if it was going from red to blue, or blue to red. But I do remember how low the roof was, how low the seats were in it (and how close they must have been to the road surface) and how massive it seemed to bein width and length.

Never saw it finished, but bet it looked amazing.
