Ref. that UR Quattro, it'll go much much more than it's current bid of around £6,000, or whatever it's at. You're basically buying a set of VIN plates and a log book.

That's a bit different with it being a swb sport and it was made purely for rallying like the RS200 and Lancia 037, they have always been 10 times the price of a UR.

as stated in ad these change hands for north of 100k. People who buy these would not think twice about making a shortie with the running gear, log book and 2 other shells.

Look up how much a genuine shortie changes hands for......

There are some blokes in a shed near here who make quattros for the rally trade from LHD two door Audi 80s.

Have you asked to see how they do it?
Takes 2 shells to make a proper rally shortie. A 2 door shell to a approx a 6 inches behind the A pillar and the rest backwards from a hatchback shell.  They are probably making a good living from it with the money that sloshes around. Need VERY good welding skills mind. I seem to remember reading somewhere the also narrowed the shell by a foot but I may just be making that up in my addled old brain.

As with MK1 escorts it will not be too long before shells will be made from scratch. There cannot be many 2 door audi 80 b2 shells left in europe.

There's an absolutely Mintola one of these where I store my cars. Except it's been sat there for years, so has a thick layer of dust over it and flat tyres. Probably one of the few cars in there that is appreciating more than what the monthly storage fee is.

£395 with a year's ticket. I wonder if it's eligible for classic insurance?

Hmm. It's an XSi but the ad says 170hp. Has it had an engine swap? Disnae look like it. This is a GTi engine:

Bullshitter selling it? I mean, even with the standard 130hp I bet it goes alright.

Yeah, well either a bullshitter or just wrong (more likely?) - description sounds honest enough - as you say should go well and looks a bit of fun for the money. MOT history looks ok...
