@Schaefftmore 323 deets. 1.5 made in 1994 but registered in 1998 on an M??? Confused. Still not sure about gearbag.

Looks like it has Aircon?

Must be imported, has KM's on MOT history.

that will teach me for not scrolling down before running its VIN to try and find out its current Reg!

ah well have the results anyway so the credits are not used in vain LOL

the M reg is an age related plate as the vehicle started life with its NI plate which it was robbed of as above, and remember the DVLA will issue replacement plates based on the vehicles year of manufacture not its date of first registration, so an M reg is appropriate here

I suspect it was imported into NI before being brought into England, I know a lot of JDM imports went via NI back in the day as I think it was cheaper somehow that way?

according to the 2 records I can pull on the car one shows a date of first registration of 1st of the 6th 1998, and the second record shows, 13th of the 11th 1998, I suspect the former is when it was imported into NI, then the 2nd when it was brought over to England?

(although their are no import markers on any of the records I can pull for this car, but those are not always reliable)

To confuse things more, Carbaba reckons it's a 4 speed manual?! Surely by 1994 it was either a 5 speed manual or a 4 speed auto?

This is 100% shite for here. A very early, BASE spec, miserable engine, what more could you possibly want! I’d forgotten that they even did a 2.3 N/A in the Mk3 carlton. I remember when my last 2.3TDs turbo failed and I drove it for months with no boost at all. It was horrendously slow. Perfect!

Wow. £780 that went for. That must value mine at £1500 at least!

I was wondering of this was a JDM(Australia import because of the white color, it would be very unusual for them to sell in white in Europe. 1.5 is no particularly special engine for them, 88hp from the looks of it. The MOT history looks good, its low mileage  (although it somehow lost quite a few km in the last few years...) and theres not rot visible from the outside which is very good news. Definitely worth saving!

Ah, more pics added, it is a manual - so probably a unicorn in the UK, as most were auto like mine.

Aftermarket steering wheel, how odd. Electric windows aren't too common in these either. And the Japanese 1.5 that this one has actually produces 95hp, not 88. Shame its not the 125hp version or the 135hp 1.8.

Yes, the 1.8 would have been particularly exciting!

So, so wrong, but...

Could be a very cheap V8 and that dodgy re-trim has cured one of the worst aspects of early 300’s, namely the nasty light grey plastic seats that split as soon as look at em. You can buy paint to cover up the orange bits.
