Like how this says 'BEARS' on the front of the Luton. I imagine it doing a regular round among housing estates in the early 80's selling actual bears to frazzled housewives & kids

Front wheel drive recovery trucks always seem like a stupid idea to me, this one even more so.

I used to borrow a S3 Land Rover LWB with a Harvey Frost on the back ,  it had a V8 and sounded great . For a long time it had the rear prop removed because of a broken half shaft , no problem it was just left in high range 4wd. All good until I picked up an SD1 from the  bottom of a steep lane- I think we had about 6 people on the bonnet and front bumper to get out to the main road. It would occasionally lose traction and the tyres squeal on bumpy roads too, lovely light steering!

No one had ever thought to make a an automotive Nigel Thornberry before. Or after thankfully.

Can you imagine how utterly fucking ridiculous you would look driving that? There is not one single redeeming feature.

Only ever saw a few diesel Epicas around; never knew they did a 6

I've kind of wanted one of those for a while, purely for the transverse straight six. I remember thinking it was a weird thing to for such a dull car when I read the Autocar first drive and weird trivia about dull cars is my soft spot

For sure there are some disadvantages with traction and maybe drivetrain longevity but the benefit would be greater capacity and easier loading.  For a one man band shite moving service with a post 97 licence it would be the better option I reckon.

It's got the new style BMW grille 😄

Things like this just seem like a waste of time, effort and money to me but each to their own I suppose!

I rather like that.  There is a faint alarm bell ringing though, because it's listed as an 1800 engine, which wasn't available in 1970-71.  Of course it could easily have had a replacement fitted in a 50-year life!  Appropriately, it's in Bedford, Bedfordshire.  Where else would it be!

Watching, obviously!

I know, it's not like it was a marginal one like emissions!

That second fail makes me think it's much worse than the MOT history makes it look

Well, the seller has been good and sent me some pictures. They arent the best (understandable) but I recon this one will take a fair chunk of 2mm steel to fix up. Terrible pictures. I know.

There's one of these for sale in Livingston on Gumtree. £1650, manual gearbox, 58k miles.

I'll get a link when I'm on the PC
