That's how I remember the one a mate had in about 2001. Nice and refined (for what it was) on the dual carriageway, but wouldn't pull up any kind of hill in 5th. He replaced it with a Corolla 1.3 liftback which was much lower geared but would still do 70 in second due to the absence of a rev limiter...
