My families version of the cult was Assemblies of God Pentecostal. My attempt at speaking in tongues when I was 10 was celebrated as though I had just achieved a masters degree. I loved my parents, but they were totally deluded, and left me completely unprepared for adult life in the real world that everyone else lives in. They did mean well though. It's for sale 3 miles from my parents, it's a local Ipswich car with HDX suffix to match my Mini. My parents nearly always had a japanese car on fleet, and we were regulars at Carrs Honda in Ipswich - trudging around the forecourt once a month to see what had arrived. In fact, my parents had an earlier bronze Civic. Two owners. 23,000 on the clock. I got bored waiting for my Dad to go and speak to the garage owner - so called him up. Today. We know the proprietor, he used to service and look after my Nan's Mini back in the 80s. He wants £2495 for it which, on balance, is probably about right. I'd dearly love to buy it but it's about £500 more than I'm comfortable paying for it and I don't need 1 car at the moment - never mind 7. I imagine he only gave the old girl a few hundred quid for it as "it's an old car love" which is a further frustration, but I never resent someone earning a living. I just wish they'd not to it at my expense sometimes!!! Anyway - if anyone's serious (he'll not welcome being fucked about) then it's at Brands Garage in Trimley. adw1977
Allegro 3 modified, reclining seats 1.3 Cooper Engine "Allegro Series 3, ex show winning car. With some regret I am selling this but being realistic I have far too many projects on the go and this will never get done. Car needs small amount of welding, boot floor and wing top as shown in pics. Car runs and stops. Most things work on the car. New drive shaft inner and outer CV joint boots fitted both sides during the shutdown. All brakes checked and freed off. Paint is not brilliant; roof has some crazing and there are some different shades on panels. Car was originally nautilus blue. Fitted with an A plus 1275 Cooper engine and gearbox, reworked Stage 2 head and tubular exhaust manifold. Logbook still says 998cc! It was running on fuel injection, and petrol tank has been modified for high pressure pump. Pump is with car but obviously not fitted. This was tested on rolling road and produced 73.5 bhp with a top speed of 116 mph! Reclining seats and split rear seat have been fitted professionally as shown in the pictures. No idea what they are from originally. Door panels and dash have been recovered in yellow and black. Fox wheels and low profile tyres fitted. These are a bit too wide at the back and rub on the rebound strap. Spare wheel is a recently powder coated steel wheel. Quartic steering wheel fitted. Exhaust needs additional mounts fitting, it moves too much and hits body intermittently."
