I'd love to know how something like this ended up in the rural west of Ireland back in the day. 

Pretty much the same question that I asked myself when spotting a Trabant P601S sitting in the middle of a field on Achill....

The funny headlamps suggest to me that that is a US import. Also the AAA is the American AA, plus Americans love Ireland.
