Good luck. Have you got £20,000 for the restoration? I should have bought my friend’s Sm when he was selling in 2009 - owned in bits since mid eighties and fully restored - half heartedly asking £15,000. Now probably  twice that.

See if you can track down one of the 25 or so RHD SMs, mostly converted in Australia...

This is too far away for me, but it looks good for £495.

How would you describe that seat pattern? It looks like when a child helps paint a wall.

While other dealers are promising sterilised cars dipped in bleach to combat the 'Rona, this one is providing closeup shots of filth on the touch surfaces.

I had the pleasure of first learning to drive in one of these in fields in Devon. First go on clutch and gears. It was a field car affectionately called polly due to the amount of polyfiller in it.

Just resprayed and parked in a field therefore makes me think the worst.

I had one of those in 3dr format, white as well.

Drove it to Southampton dock auctions on a (later found out) laser printed tax disc and a full tank.

I thought the gauge was U/S as I'd only had it a week and brimmed it, as no movement occurred until the A34 by around Newbury.

Drove it back home and still only used 1/3rd of a tank both ways.

Sold it to a guy in work who gave it to his very attractive but not very bright daughter. He also marveled at the economy having owned a volvo v40 petrol and filling it 3 times for every one compared to the escort.

Great car but really slow.

A Leyland from Leyland with 12 months MOT - cheaper than most camper vans

hey @dollywobbler a replacement for the delica :)  plenty of space to do mailbag and vlogs in it! and transporting the family, attach a tow bar and you can probably tow the rest of the fleet no problem LOL

There was never* a V6 SRi

Because of interchangeable parts, there have been built all sorts of combinations.

My dream would be an omega 3.2 block, with 2.5 auxiliaries from the FWD V6, mated to a 6 speed Turbo gearbox in an early 2.0 4x4 shell, with L trim and steel wheels

So sleeper IRS 4x4 6 speed with about 210 bhp, with bags of torque and grey bumpers.

I had a 2.0L cavvy saloon.

Only really owned it for a about 3 weeks and it was alright generally, seemed to overheat a lot which I think was thermostat related so I removed it, as you do.

Lent it to a slightly*  dodgy mate once as it had a towbar.

The journey went fine and he phoned me up later on the  Sunday asking if he could drop it off the next day, no bother.

About 2 hrs after that him and his mate were told some kids were ripping about the estate in an old car some idiot hadn't locked up properly and wanted to know if they were after any bits from it?

Time they fathomed it was my car they'd borrowed, it was smouldering away happily in a field.

Still, he gave me my £300 back for it.

Seemingly stood up to a good few hours of abuse..... which meant I was right about the thermostat.
