500 squid or offer from somebody who doesn't realise it's had the MoT extended.

8 miles away from me apparently. If I bought it ,I would tidy it up and sell it. Mileage is low, but MOT history shows it had serious structural rust  3 years ago. Mmm not sure.

I'm sorry, what are my eyes seeing! There goes an evening reading up about this novelty.

It's an American thing I think. There was an era when any car sold had to have these, even imported cars, when I went there in the late '80's on holiday I can remember seeing a BMW e34 5 series with them. Obviously there was some serious reworking to enable it all to function.

But wait...

I suspect that's a waste gate through the bonnet too. MEGA COOL! The ad reads like a Toys R Us shopping list and of course...

Quoting the exact reason.why the DVLA should probably be informed

The conversion I believe was one of the first VTEC Metro conversions done. It was done roughly 15/16 years ago and has been through a few owners since. Originally built as a track car it has many battle scars.

Do we think it was ever used on the road whilst the incorrect Tax was being paid and insurance wasn't valid ?

Completely agree on both counts.

I quite fancy an early mk3 1.6 Ghia; there’s a crispness to the styling that I really like.  I suspect I’d be a bit disappointed with the experience though.

Definitely try before you buy, if you are over 6 foot the seats do not go back far enough, they feel very tinny and drive like I expect front wheel drive to! I had a 1.6 L so not as nicely trimmed as the Ghia, it had new michelin tyres and the front wheels would bounce when trying to accelerate briskly! I accept this was probably down to the tyres but even a mk2 Astra is more comfortable! They are fine as a local runabout but not the same feeling of quality as a Granada, Cortina or Capri.
