ive never noticed the cladding below the rubbing strip on these before.

Also they would seem a very cost effective way into a Mark2 that doesn’t need  @TripleRich levels of welding.

A truly dreadful money pit, that will cause you sleepless nights and a mental break down, before sucking every last penny out of your bank account then leaving you stranded at every possible opportunity. And a Rolls Royce.

And here’s the 90’s equivalent.

Reckons genuine 60k miles and it’s the ultra rare bASe model ,although Ford called it Executive and someone’s fitted Cassie wheels instead of the fake Minilite look rims it should have.

Thats nice, weird place for the expansion tank though I don't think I've seen one just plopped on top of the engine before.

I always thought the W124 worked best in lower spec 4 cylinder guise, although the sweet spot was an auto 230e with a/c, the fact that you could buy fully loaded Scorpios, Sterling’s and Senators for the same money meant they weren’t that popular with company car user choosers.

Can't agree, the smoothness and torque of the six with the second gear pull-away is what makes the car IMO.

I must be alone in that I quite like the long throw rubbery manual change

Possibly so.

Great cars though, in any spec apart from gangster.

A nice 240 for someone. Not a bad price either.

I was just looking at that, thinking with a kick in the balls Covid Offer and a bit of tidying up , that could be a nice car...

Until I saw the sunroof*, not quite as easy to repair as a bit of rattle can white and some grey cotton to darn the seat. Or for that matter recycling those wheeltrims.

You too can have your very own 6 cylinder Historic Racer, as seen at Goodwood, bids starting at £12, 000 which is probably less than a race built XK lump and who would notice another Jag?

What a way to use up unneeded pension pots or savings for old age.

I saw that seller on another auction recently with his great style of parking cars up badly on a muddy field to create a marketing photo.

Interestingly since he last advertised it he's added the bit about it was subjected to the recent floods. Bet that's really* helped the long term anti rust treatment!
