Saab 9-5 Aero Auto Estate, high miles but a rare beast for two reasons.

Ventilated front seats (as well as heated but they all get those)

and.... It misses the higher rate tax band by 10 days so you are not paying £550 a year for the honour.

If this had a sunroof, it would be the holy grail ?

£1000 with 12 months MOt, but needs tyres all round as advisories.

"Woke up this morning feeling shite

Had a beige pick-up on my mind

Then I saw this Peugeot, and I thought it looked good

Something tells me my knob is made of wood"

I'm quite a fan of the Uren Stampede, mainly because of the airbrushed coach lines. A proper 70's machine!

I like this.  Crazy and fun. In a Mad Max way. Tax and MoT exempt apparently...yippeee ULEZ exempt. Just the thing for next year...but...

Then I looked at it more closely. The registration is for a '47 Austin 10. There is no Austin 10 in this at all I can see - the 10 had a semi-unitary body so it can't incorporate chassis parts.  This is what a '47 10 looks like...

It is taxed under the 1125cc engine at the moment as (probably) Historic Tax Free - but the chassis/drivetrain/wheelbase is surely all Nissan - and the body Ford 60's. V5 is currently away for amendment but it surely can't deserve the 47 plate? Its an 80's Patrol with a Ford body. Anyway good luck to the owner. I also wonder what happened to the 47 Austin? Does that still exist or is this a logbook job dreamt up from something found at an autojumble on a car long gone? I'm not sure - I would not like to get stopped by VOSA claiming tax and MoT exemption.  It would make some Wombles day.

Bit like those D-Type Jags - 'authentic' cars created from the wing of a car crashed and crushed 60 years ago or where they take a Vintage Bentley and share the parts out between two cars...all very complicated. ? Not for me. If it was more straightforward I might have gone to have a look but its just not worth the grief.

Thirteen grand for this GMC Syclone so not exactly pin money, however there are two important things to remember.

1. It still looks cool, even though it was made in the early 1990s

2. As standard, with its slushbox, it does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds.

Unfortunately it's for sale at Motorhub so it will be bodged up to high heaven. Their cars are all dodgy avoid them!!

EDIT: I was beaten to it by @skattrd

Bloody hell, even the Peugeot knock-offs have been hit with G-Wagen scene tax :(

Back in 2002 I turned down the opportunity to buy a running LWB 280GE because it had no MOT and I thought it was too expensive at £750.  I bought a Range Rover instead.
