eBay tat volume 3.

I think people need to take this into consideration when selling a classic that's been customised:

I came across this modded Escrot for sale on Ebay for the ridiculous price of 13,500 pounds. The thing I don't think many people understand is that it's been to modified to your liking, with your wheels, the engine that you chose, so when you list it for 13 bags you need to keep in mind "Ok, I've made changes to the car. Not many buyers are going to like it as it isn't standard, as well as it's being modified to my specific taste." and so forth. But ignoring this and taking the piss with the price, labelling it as a "one-off" isn't going to interest buyers. I would put the standard parts back on the car if I was in the owners shoes (a bit difficult with the engine so perhaps include the original with the listing), & list the tuning parts as added extras in the sale, sold with the car for an increased total selling price if requested by the buyer.

I know this is a mini-rant, but I wish people would take this into consideration.

I wonder if he's just had enough, and can't be arsed spending any more time knowing that it will never be a 2 door.

It's his car, he can ask what he wants for it , whether he gets it is a different matter.

I find what you're suggesting utterly ridiculous, especially when things like a zetec on carbs is a very desirable modification.

Nobody is going to spend weeks or months rebuilding a car back to standard spec on the off chance somebody is looking for one.

Maybe this isn't the best example, I do agree with you that Zetec conversions for Escorts are popular, but I wasn't suggesting that this needs to be concourse/factory condition, rather that if it isn't to difficult put some parts back on the car that it originally had, for examples the rims that originally came with it if accessible.

I agree, but what I was on about was just a suggestion. The market will decide when it will sell & at what price. I know that Escorts are in high demand due to their rally pedigree but some listing prices are just ridiculous.

That Nissan pick-up looks very South African to me.

Yes I've reposted my own find from just the last page but GOD DAMN!! this is sexy. I liked that green saloon I posted too but I prefer this one for the Grandad-approved hatchback and wheel trims. Plus it's the GSI, so it enjoys* an extra 15 or so hp (for a heady 130ish). Only way it could be better would be the full giffer-baiting Auto and Cruise (I doubt they ever got cruise).

Pretty sure the exhaust is going on my hated c4, I know the rear pads are well past their best and now I can hear liquid sloshing around behind me.....

I wonder if they did a 1.1 wagon for Portugal?    Did UK market ever see a 1.4 estate?

Wheels apart, this looks worth the 800 asked.

This one is much lower miles and much nearer, in Brittany.  1000

Several things about the advert made me chuckle

- Its done 500 miles on a new crate engine and beaten everything on a RWYB dragstrip event, nicely run in then

- £13,500 and the budget only stretches to a scrapyard fuel pump

- MegaSquit Slipper : I thought this was some JML homeshopping advert for extreme Incontinence Footware

One of these and a pair of footless fishermans waders.....

Beurer FW 20 Foot Warmer Original

I may have nicked the idea from the Big Yin for this.....
