*By the way, is it just me or are there quite a few of these Transit Connect vans that have gone a bit 'Britains First-ish'

Mine hasn't.  But it has a proper petrol engine so is definitely the exception.

Kudos for making a shoe rack out of a Machine Mart grit blasting cabinet and some old pallets

*Although you're the high bidder on this item, the reserve price hasn't been met yet.

That lived near me on a dealers forecourt here in Dublin until sometime last year. I think it was €10k then

I wasn't aware that Escort 1300 Sports in RHD form were a thing, sporty features but economical to run. Saying that, don't bother looking at the price, it's overpriced as always.

I had one back in 1990, PEL 714R.

White with RS alloys, lowered and it had a full Janspeed manifold and exhaust, plus the obligatory K&N of course. It also had what I was told, an 1100 gearbox (could be bo-lax).

It was quick of the mark, but you were in fourth by 60 and getting to 90 was a miracle.

It looked and sounded ace, but was rotten under the surface. I sold it to a mate who had it resprayed, but didn’t see to the rot. So it didn’t last that much longer.

My favourite ever car I have owned.

I love the look of these things. Theyre like a Playmobil van or something! Imagine finding an unmolested early panel van one in a bright green colour. I'd just sit and stare at it for hours. Fantastic.

You ever get that feeling someone posts an advert for a car that they don't really want to sell, they just make the advert to make someone else get off their case?  Yeah.

i find it strange that a pretty little car like this should have found its way to the united states of america, especially in the late 1950's when fins were at their greatest.....

its got a 1275 outta an MG Midget fitted, i wonder if they have uprated the brakes to suit the increase in engine power.
