Not my thing but this looks quite tidy to me and realistically priced too. I remember people buying these as bangers back in the early naughties and the 2.0l were pretty peppy units.

Clutch is apparently slipping, but aren't these ridiculously easy to change or something?

IIRC, any 8V (inc. Mk3) had the ‘letter box’ between gearbox and clutch making it easy to change the latter.

Hopefully, we’ll find out when @4wheeledstool finishes the Mk2 and moves on to its successor.

Every single one (and there were a few) of those 24V Mondeos that came through Chester auctions sounded like an oil starved 1.6 OHC from a Cortina. That car is well fit though.

I think that one has been for sale on and off for months, not 100% sure, as not tracking them as much as I used to. Not sure why it has not sold.

Details sketchy atm but please bear with.

My father is an estate agent and has instructions on a probate sale in Suffolk. There’s a Citröen Synergie in the garage which is, apparently, in very good shape.

He mentioned it to me as he knows I love a cheap car and this is.

The daughter would be happy with anything really. I suggest a nice donation to the family’s charity of choice would have it on your driveway.

All I know atm is it’s a blue/green - a diesel - and about 90k on it.

I’ll update the post with pics once he gets things moving at his end.

My son works for them. I doubt he'd want to invest in that.  Whilst "partners" earn £500k plus he's earning a fuckshit lot less.

Still he left some paper last time he stayed

30 mins for an expert.  3 hours for a dick head. If it's the F16.5

Our mk3 had the same inspection cover as the mk2s had.

Thanks Billy but not the correct spec in so many ways.

It feels quite strange to be looking at vans now that weren't even built when I had my first one, that are rustier than it ever was, and are never less than ten times the price!
