'1971 volvo 164 3.0
£1,595
Watlington, Norfolk

1971 manual 3.0 volvo 164 rare car, for restoration but i will say the bodywork chassis ,is solid . off road since 1990 before the new road tax laws, its not a historic car i have new v5 but i need to change to historic under process . i have some history old handbook, keys. got the car started on fuel can whats in the petrol tanks too old. drove back forth no problem happy to demonstrate here. needs brake work, electrics sorting , interior tired but its all there plus many spares in boot . someones started the project but nothing major removed only inner door handles some interior bits all in boot .
paints old and faded but no rot on any doors pillars scuttles, good project . delivery possible'

Someone called Clive Moss. It's on Facebook but I recall you saying you're not on there. Anyhow, get it bought!

That's lovely, but I already have one 164 with dodgy brakes - buying another would be a bit daft.  Although this one will have the earlier non-vented discs which are a lot easier to get bits for...

This.

I hate having cars outside my place. Of the three I have got, (all working) I wish I could hide away at least the two I'm not using / playing with.

Dead and rotting cars outside? Yuck.

They belong under cover, being cared for. Or in the shredder.

Why havn't we all got enough garage space?

Rant mode - off.

the simple fact is not everyone want's or needs a garage, and I'll be frank here if I had a garage, well I did and it was full of old car and crap, I'd just see it as an extra place to keep more old cars.

My herald has spent 10 years outside, it's very sad but I do genuinely love the car even if it looks a little unloved!

On the train?  I cannot fathom a reason why one would pass through Watlington in a car...

I passed through on the way to visit a client at HMP Huntercombe.

There hasn't been a train to or from Watlington since about 1959. This is all that's left of the oul station, about a mile outside Watlington itself:

What a fine design on this Fiat, it just sits there majestically. This was back when Fiat did things right...   But that's enough about the Multipla.

Nice! That steering wheel cover needs to be launched in the bin, and replaced with nice pair of driving gloves.

Can’t remember the last time I saw a smart, unmolested RX7.  Lovely.

£1k but still counting, wonder what these go for?

About £7k gets a very nice one. 12A engine (quite a few ended up in Ro80s) will last, with regular oil and filter changes.

Thanks for the photos; I love anything to do with closed lines, but the Volvo 164 is at Watlington in Norfolk, rather than the one in Oxfordshire!  The Norfolk Watlington still very much has a station (I went through it last week), but sadly no longer is a junction for the line from Wisbech.

Cloth!

Is that orifice missing some late 80s housebrick-sized telephonic techno-wonder?

Went to look at this today. Chassis in great condition. The interior dirty but would clean up no problem.  Could not get the engine to turn over so possibly seized with sitting. Still wanted it but put my bid in too early and was out bid. I want one even more now.
