Haajanen dedicates six whole pages to 'coupé' and variations thereof in his dictionary of body styles. A quick skim read suggests it's perfectly appropriate for the first generation Passat in the English speaking world

But what did VW call it, or rather what did they not call it?

What are the odds on this not being over-restored or (more likely) being turned into another shit arsed stupid pile of crap with Minilites and chrome headlight brows?

I have no idea what these are worth and try to stay off eBay but I was sneaking a quick look just now and this caught my eye. One of those cars that looks like it's going fast, even standing still.

For the benefit of those watching in black and white, it’s Very Yellow Indeed.

So somehow theres yet another Buick Roadmaster on Ebay now. Where are all these coming from suddenly? Thats the 3rd one in about a week! No LT1 either but looks pretty clean! It missing all the rubber trim around the car, those usually fall off over time when the glue thats holding them on gives up.

Sold for a bag, the pictures flatter it quite a bit, what looked like white silicon sealant was slathered along the bottom edge of the windscreen seal.

I had already bagged three cars so let it go.

Had a look at the car. Owner is a long time US car enthusiast and has plenty  of older cars, this one is too new for him and he doesnt really need it so its being sold now. Very solid, mileage is unknown since the odometer stopped at 142k miles, it'll probably be closer to 160k. Barely any rust at all but trim pieces inside and around the car not in the best condition. Probably one of the cleaner ones, very comfortable ride and engine sounded great! Can provide VIN and RPO code sticker if anyone is interested.

This beauty is local to me in Grimsby and is on Facebook marketplace. I don't know the owner or the car though -

Grimsby Peugeot on Facebook.

1983 Peugeot 104 for £450.

I'm on my phone and struggling to post photos but it's silver and is best described as toothless.  I will endeavour to post pictures as soon as I am near a computer.

Honest and fairly tidy breadvan Polo in need of a new sill, £400 start.  All the horny posh girls at university drove these.

These are pretty useable in 1272cc form, as long as you don’t expect too much of the brakes. Would.

Check out the giant phallus glued to the bonnet, and the aileron from some entirely other car stuck in the low pressure area behind the vertical rear screen where it’s guaranteed to maximise lift.

......as long as you don’t expect too much of the brakes......

Mk.2 Polo brakes were truly piss-poor - they were not much more than press the pedal and hope for the best. Brodie Britain Racing (and others) used to sell Mk.2 brake upgrade kits for this very reason.

My cousin was in the market for a Polo in 1990 - he tried a nearly-new Mk.2 and came out ashen-faced. The Mk.3s came out toward the end of the year, so he bought a base-model 1043cc "Fox" having convinced himself that the brakes on those were infinitely better.....
