On top of the fact that it is utterly hideous, you also have to contend with the fact that the lad has completely dismantled it before advertising it. This belongs to my mate Tony in Perth and it was dismantled by the PO (the Brechin antique dealer) and left in a shed. Tony bought it to save it from the scrappy (he also owns a lovely Fleur de Lys van) and then bought the pick up to put it on. The pick up is a nice example, the completed van would be less so in my opinion

lesapandre
P4X4 This whole generation of old P4 Auntie Rovers which have been such a staple of the classic car world for decades are increasingly turning up like this in poor condition as their high quality build increasingly falls victim to time, decay and indifference. Still lots about but what future for them as they slip out of the motoring memory of those who remember them as a prestiege quality car? All the Stans and Freds who cherished them will stand down from caring for them and it's going to be up to a new generation to decide their fate. As a type of car expensive to own and run now they need more work I'd say the future is bleak? Their lifeline is free road tax and MoT and low emmissions exemption, as well as an active owners club, but will that be enough in this era of competing calls on peoples time and money and rapidly changing taste and society? They don't turn up in a film franchise, have a significant racing history, are very rare, wear an exotic badge or have a continuing purpose like an old 4x4 for example. They are just nice old cars that have come to us down two or three generations of owners but is that enough? People are sentimental about cars in scrap yards but salvation requires time, money and dedication not just a warm fuzzy sentiment that they should not perish. Are they interesting/useful/fun enought to spark the next generation to preserve them? If these were a bunch Landrovers of the same era they would fly when for sale...therein lies the issue. Trick or treat? Only time, as ever, will tell. But for this bunch of old aunts it looks like trick not treat. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F202652095588 clayts450, Sudsprint, Asimo and 4 others
