My pet hate is when people re-spray these and paint the door handles the same colour. As you were...

That another one from James Hull collection. He isn't trying to hard to make a profit as it was 700 plus fees. What a surprise he hasn't put any pictures of the N/S with the rotten from wing with an awful arch repair

I still can't the grasp the concept of any Allegro being worth more than 1000 pounds.

Same here there were 2 others a yellow one that had rotted out under the vinyl roof made £1500 and a tidy late 1500 that made £3200. They seem to be popular with the yougsters and are pretty decent old things but not at that sort of money.

I want a Z4 but can't afford it. I've been looking at Z3's in particular the 16v 138bhp ones as I can't afford a 2.8.

Anyone owned one?

This one is an early P reg in James bond spec. Good mileage, looks nice but a dicey MOT history of rot and long lay ups.

Not much info about the issues with it is there? These can be a world of pain though, you can guarantee a non restored one will have rust everywhere, much of it you'll never see until you delve deeper. I had one twenty years ago which Martin Buckley had restored and it was starting to rust again then. The Kugelfisher injection system is virtually impossible to set up without specialist help, of which there is very little. That said, probably my favourite car of all time. When I had one I felt like I'd arrived big time driving it.

It still has MoT until 16th October, and VED expires in June.

The point about adjusting ancient mechanical injection is valid but nowadays you have the option of converting to Megasquirt (other programmable injection systems are available).

The Peugeot's MoT last year had the following:

A used early model Rover 800 series was on my parents' shortlist in 1993. Not a V6 engined one though - just an 820. The fuel thirst of the 6-cyl Vauxhall Royale frightened them off anything with more than 4 cylinders!

Don't buy a four-pot BMW. Save for a six banger, or buy an MX-5.

ETA some people "in the know" reckon manual six pot Z3s are going to.start climbing strongly in money soon, and are seen by many as an investment.

The car starts with no issues and runs well, has a fully working All Wheel Drive system, clean interior and working electronics

Sounds Alright.....fully working AWD...Go on, tell me more...

3 coil springs snapped, rear drop links worn, small exhaust leak, engine underperforming after 50mph, small fuel tank leak, rusted floor and sills, and engine management light on due to exhaust sensor.

As Junkman say's.......It's Fucked.

Rusty wings and leaking oil.

Z3's don't really have front wings, just a small bolt on panel between the door and arch. Everything else is bonnet or bumper. Rear wings are bolt on.

My 2.8 manual has been a good thing for the 6 years I've had it.
