I really really really like this

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Series-2a-IIa-Range-Rover-Classic-V8-Hybrid/132394405369?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908131621%26meid%3D32ce23e76fbf4c62ba880acf400844a1%26pid%3D100678%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D182848319696&_trksid=p2481888.c100678.m3607&_trkparms=pageci%253A3b2f2b2b-c71f-11e7-94ee-74dbd180dba7%257Cparentrq%253Aacc742f515f0aa1202c702e8ffff9252%257Ciid%253A1

BUT

It is a Series II body and fairly genuine on a Range Rover chassis and running gear.

As far as point DVLA goes this is a resounding Nil Point

astonishingly doovla cretins have recently inspected and passed it as a 1960 Land Rover. according to the owner seller.I was converted 20 years ago, there is no trace of the range rover v5. The engine number translates as early 1980s as does the gearbox type. The VIN is for a Series II

Seller is going to see if the RR chassis number is still in place on the chassis. I suspect that it will be suspiciously smooth.

I am not sure that the coin this will go for is worth the Q plate risk

I saw this the other day and immediately though I should have kept my old Ghia.

Where is that now? Anyone know?

In 2016 the car was acquired by its last owner who was looking for the best BX he could find in order to elevate it to concours standard as he had done with a GSA which we are also currently selling.

Unfortunately he was unable to to this due to ill health and the impending loss of his driving licence blah blah blah

This Citroen BX 17TGD is a future classic car as according to the web site "How Many Left" there are only 399 registered for use on UK roads and this example will be one of the best of these cars.

The buyer will be highly delighted with this car and it is ready to be shown at any classic car rally.

WBOD!

No, it's not. It's a rusty cloth trimmed 300SE that even by the dismal standards of eighties Merc dismalness is about as cheery and pleasant as a wet November day in downtown Karlsruhe.

It needs sending to China in cube form.

I meant the photos.

Regarding the car I agree that it's twice as big as Vienna's Central Cemetary but only half as cheerful.

Thus it is dead centre shite and must be saved.

The very sight of a W126 depresses me. There is just something about them that I really dislike. The Hewn From Granite W124 isn't far behind.

The W126's predecessor however................

PICKUP/ CONVERTIBLE PROJECT

Yeah, and the Lancia Flavia in the background would be an ideal camper van project, I guess.

And the Ford 400E would make an excellent roadster.

What a dolt.

Don't even get me started on that W124 bollocks.

What an overhyped pile of pure, unadulterated shit, usually rotten to the core, because they didn't even want to match Lada quality in those days.

A friend of mine had a taxi company in Berlin back then. I'm talking 50+ cars at any given time and he was the spokesman of the Berliner Kraftdroschken Innung. Mind you, if you didn't provide Mercedes Diesel automatics, you didn't get any drivers (guess how I know. I tried it with Olds Delta 88 Diesels, people will never learn). Hence he got red carpet treatment by Mercedes and they always invited him to their 'preferred customers' venues.

After receiving yet another batch of W124s that didn't survive the first two weeks in service, some of them having been delivered without rear door locks (how's this for quality control?), at one of those Mercedes self vaunting parties, he stood up in front of the assembled clientele and asked the Mercedes brass when they are intending to catch up with the quality standards of Fiat.

Has this tasty looking early 406 saloon been posted here yet?

Shite-worthy features include a 2.1 XUD, a beige velour interior with wood* and pathetically low mileage, all for just over £500.

Someone 'round my neck of the woods was still using one of these as a daily. Haven't seen it for a few years, mind. Was in very tidy nick by the looks of it, too.

I'm guessing they go for a few quid now?
