It stayed in the family for about 10 years and had done 150,000 miles when my Dad scrapped it. I'm pretty sure every mile was foot to the floor, as long as you never backed off it could cover ground pretty well.Was even stolen by Pikeys once, a mate spotted it on dodgy plates in Bicester, the Police weren't interested, so me, FathaN and one of my brothers went to take it back- probably the only time in my life ( so far)I've been punched so hard I ended up on my arse! Got arrested although not charged, then they had the cheek to charge me for recovering it from the Pikey site. Probably went on their crimes solved* list as well ! They seem generally a tough engine to me (im not talking about the Rover 800 version obv which are beyond hopeless) and a HGF sounds like 'bad luck', I am thinking of bidding on that V6 estate one with the cloth personal line interior, but its got HGF and i would think an engine swap would be a better prospect than trying to fix it.
