That seems cheap if it's not a rotter - somebody please GIB

Looks like, from his posting history, he took it in as Part Ex.  Off the road 14 years, corroded brake pipes - one uk owner but an irish car so no paperwork from beyond that.  Could it be one of those Cork built ones?

I like it.  It looks terrible with a terrible/legendary engine.  I reckon someone could get it for £500 this weekend.

Above average selection at Briightwells auction this month.  https://www.brightwells.com/classic-motoring/leominster-classic-vintage/leominster-classic-vintage-27th-november-2019/catalogue-classic-cars-27th-november/

This might be my favourite .image.thumb.jpeg.66dd28a1b669ccf214dcc4f9ecd01b76.jpeg

It's very blue.image.thumb.jpeg.ec292d87c4f4a0ffc097ddfc20a43b37.jpeg

And who knew there was a tidy baby- blue Ritmo auto left anywhere?image.thumb.jpeg.ac683d17a09993141467becb092a9731.jpeg

Strada / Ritmo are usually in this Beta sort of state.image.thumb.jpeg.5acffc4977a0d27d3c74604f0b072b67.jpeg

There's a smart Royale, and a charming Yellow / manual XJ6 Coupe. And a yellow Elite and.............

Funnily enough that other BX I sent you on C&C appeared a few days ago for £500 more than the previous owner advertised it for, also on FB.

Can we please encourage each other not to buy this now some opportunist has done so? His FB profile doesn't inspire much confidence.

The other Sussex one? That's annoying, too, although it seems to have vanished from Facebook.

I really like the look of the doom blue estate but I don't want to encourage the guy for flipping it, and if I don't have £400 I definitely don't have £700 anyway

You’re a top chap and all that @Asimo old love, but I hate you now because I am consumed with want for that Strada, and the Royale Coupe.  The rare facelift FE VX 4/90 is a bit special too. And the Beta Berlina looks eminently fixable, and worth it.

Some of the estimates look quite low - £9k for a tidy XJC or R109 Merc SL.  Is that a technique to bring in mug punters (like me) or has the shiny classic market taken a dip?  Others are still all the money, obvs.

Half tempted to take a day off and go along.

Edit: not that I’ve got any money, certainly not £9k for another old Jag.

Do we know anyone near Norwich who's probs about to sell a big van and thus have room for a small one?

No idea what that writing says, but hope it's something like Tokyo Nipple Cripple Glorious Bumhole Experimenting Department

It's in West Kirby, which is a bit blue rinse/golden showers.

Latest on BXgate. Apparently the guy told the PO he wanted the car as a personal pet project and was going to love and care for it etc, so she gave him some money off the asking price without him having to negotiate!

That's a bit cheeky, but she should have done her research (i.e. a quick 30 second google and peruse on eBay) to have seen that it was worth more than she advertised it for. Whilst it is annoying that it hasn't made it's way into the hands of an enthusiast, I think it's wrong to have a go at someone for spotting a bargain and realising there is a buck to be made- or for the PO for being gullible - it's the way of the world I'm afraid.  Sadly, money speaks the loudest.

Admission: A friend of mine was going to see this on my behalf and we had the intention of doing the exact same thing, having first given it a decent clean and service.  By it dirty, sell it clean, get more money for the same machine.

Suggestion: BX collective purchase to make it The BX of Many Shiters The 2nd, have a whip around to refund the PO the difference. Karma and all that.....

Yeah, we've all done some deals like that. I part-funded the Palladium restoration by buying some stuff for buttons and selling at 20x what I paid.

All's fair in old cars, but I'm only annoyed because this directly affects me, and I'm selfish, and actually to the PO who obviously really wanted it to go to a good home. tbh I don't think £400 is outrageously cheap for a very leggy BX, even one as clean as that with a long MoT, and I reckon it might take a while to sell at £700.
