About the telephone: it works as in you can turn it on and its connected to the car, you won't be able to do any phone calls without doing some fairly extensive modifications to the phone system though, as is the case with pretty much all of them unfortunately at this point. There are people who did get them to work though! Maurice Marina
Schaefft
This is such a nice car! This is the kind of car to make me pop my riffle cherry. If I ACTUALLY needed a thirsty V6 petrol car. What I actually need is nice diesel van or estate that I could use rather than the works escort van I'm using now. And more so is it really worth the fact I'd lose a bollock from SHMBO. So, all in all it's about as sensible as shoving wasps up my arse.* one random please. * Well the great thing is, even if you don't need the car you still get something of value here, see it as an investment*. Schaefft
Something positive worth mentioning as well and what I didn't know before: Due to the age of the car its actually being emission tested as a vehicle without catalytic converter even though it obviously has one. So should anyone ever have the strange urge to straight pipe this Safrane, at least the lack of a cat won't be an issue. As you can tell it would have passed the normal test anyway: A few more tickets to go! Aston Martin, RobT, Lacquer Peel and 3 others

I hope to get the chance to take some decent picture of the car next week once it's all ready. Hopefully that'll convince a few more people to try their luck with this fine piece of 90s premium motoring! RobT
Good to see the original owner didn't tick the leather box. Incidentally, this has exactly the same interior as my old lower spec one, which was a 2 litre RT automatic. We need a few more reckless people to move this roffle along. I think I'm done with two tickets though! Lacquer Peel, Andy F and MorrisItalSLX
bramz7
As I'm the reason for the roffle, I'll help it along with a random. I hope this doesn't come across as taking the piss. If it does, I apologise.

If it does, I apologise. Not at all, happy to give you the chance to get it even without having the money lol. List above updated again. Not many tickets left now! As far as I know the PRV isn't a bad engine at all, 165bhp might not be the pinnacle of performance, but apart from changing the oil/filter (which I have done maybe 30 miles, albeit a few months ago), it doesn't need much. No timing belt to worry about either, and the ancillaries were all pretty much dealt with by now, apart from the AC compressor probably (I have no clue if the AC blows cold). If you are feeling brave you might be able to put the 24V heads on it (or the entire engine, that might be easier) and as some should know Renault wasn't afraid (with the help of Irmscher and Hartge) of slapping two turbos on it either with the Biturbo. Schaefft
Am I right in thinking that these things had different front ends depending on the trim spec? The Baccara below had a slightly different front end treatment, so did the Birturbo. Both were cut with the facelift which was redesigned front and back, a major downgrade in my opinion. I like the normal Phase 1 design like mine by far the most.

Schaefft
'Tis indeed sir. Had it four years now. I dread the day I need parts for it To be honest, so far I can't think of anything I couldnt get somehow. The drivetrain and most suspension parts are shared with other cars, and even if you'd need body panels or interior bits there would be someone breaking a car eventually, you just need to be in the right groups. I have the benefit of having easy access to German sources though which makes things a lot easier. R9UKE
R9UKE
Yeh you're right, engine parts etc shouldn't be a problem. Mine has the air suspension which gives me a shiver up my spine every time I open the boot compartment to reveal the ECU, compressor and all the wires for it that look like they were intricately positioned by Jean-Claude on his Vendredi overtime back in Dieppe in 1992. I dread to think what even one shock absorber would take (time wise) to source. They are unreal wafters though, yours really does look lovely. Schaefft
Oh yeah, as soon as you get to model specific parts like the 4x4 system or air suspension (or basically every single part the Biturbo was build from) things get very tricky and expensive. Thankfully mine doesn't have any of that, I do know the problem from my Senator with adjustable shocks though...
