I'm going to be an early bird for breakfast, as I need to get back to the NEC. I have a box of magazines that needs to find its way to Chaseracer.

That clearly didn't happen.  Feel free to swing by tomorrow when you've finished at the Hall of (Weird) Lights.

Tea will be available.

Thanks all for making it a lovely day out. Felt very social indeed, in fact missed half the cars going though and hardly took any photos! Too busy chatting.

Highlights:

* The 59 reg Seat Ibiza that needed a jump and then ran on two, possibly one, through the Shed of Shame making a noise not unlike a Kubota. Bidding reached £590 and then they rightfully kicked it out of there before we were submerged by unburned petrol.

* The madness that was one (black, definitely* never been a taxi) Zafira making £725 and then the very next, better specced, lower mile one making £320. Guess which one I chose in the game, and guess which one Mrs_Pillock chose?

* Having an attack made against my life by an auction driver in a BMW 7-series. I was minding my own business and the next thing I know he's gunning the engine and driving straight at me. Well, that or he tried to get it through the roller shutters next to my seat at 2mph and took a chunk out the bumper just after the hammer fell. Buyers went straight back to haggle some money off :)

There was a gangsta Merc CLS with cutaway arches, Halfords wheels and an obscured VIN number

There was this.... thing.... that had a variety of 'shiters guessing how it had been painted but most of them revolved around "from a distance", "with their eyes closed" and "using a paintball gun filled with humbrol enamel". It had been painted both top and bottom, but not at the same time so there was still a join line. You can literally get your hand inside the engine bay through the panel gaps.

This was my burger.

Sloth, do you still have any old auction sheets that are scannable? I feel the need to BIG some DATA and see how long some of last year's tat lasted.

As ever a super day out! Great to catch up with those I’ve met before and to make some new acquaintances too!

The trowel painted Caddy, the 207 which looked like it had been mended with putty, the Relay which was pissing water everywhere, the ‘carbon fibre’ bonnet X5, and the 2 cylinder Ibiza showed the high quality of the rammel up for grabs.

But a battered Kia Carens with MoT for £125 was a true bargain!

And I managed to keep my bidding arm in check... just about!

Already looking forward to the next time chaps!

Yeah, sorry. I had to get back to the show, so had a lonely Trucker's breakfast, then disappeared. I'm going to drop the mags off with the new owner, but thanks for the tea offer.

4. French or Italian badge or origin

5. UK badge of origin

4th place (and winners of the teams cup) - Team BrownNova - £2630 - Lots 27, 26, 173, 111, 104, 54, 508

3rd place - DaveFowler2000 - £2610 - Lots 27, 26, 173, 25, 500, 30, 38

1st place equal - Anthony G and SlothInABowl - £2245 - We both choose the same Lots 27, 26, 32, 25, 40, 104, 513

Despite the seeming distance from the winners to the pack, several people were just one dodgy choice away from a win.

I'm still kicking myself for picking the rusty Ka (bubbles under the fuel filler) over the older but tidy VW Lupo. Bah and humbug.

See you next time....

I lost out big time by picking the ' carbon fibre' bonnet X5 for my automatic which ended up selling for £1950. Apart from that I had a gret day and it was good to put some faces to some of the names I've seen on here. :-)

Great to meet you BL Bloke!
