BeEP
As mentioned in the for sale thread the C2 is going to Wuvvum, probably at the end of next week. So rather than turn my attention to the Corsa or Multipla i did the logical thing and bought this... Reason - it was very cheap! I've fixed various foibles but will leave some for the next owner. Up for sale next week hopefully (once I've given it a good clean!). And then this found me (courtesy of my friends at the local garage). I've wanted to try one for a while and it was only half a mile or so down the road... wuvvum, Six-cylinder, 320touring and 6 others

I flipping KNEW it would be you involved in the sale of that primrose 75! @EssDeeWonmessaged me about it as he knows how much I love them. If I wasn't emotionally attached to every single shit car I already have, I'd buy it (if he'd move on the price a bit). Much interest?

He works at the local garage, but that's just mechanical work and MOTs. His paintwork is very good though; he did a lot of work to, and painted most of, my Allegro estate five years ago and that's holding up well despite my use and abuse of it. BeEP
So on Thursday the 206 passed its MOT first time. ready to be taxed yesterday following the head gasket & timing belt replacement. Here it is, looking smug... Then yesterday firstly Spartacus arrived to buy the Berlingo (see his collection thread). Shortly after he'd left Wuvvum arrived in this, which I'd inexplicably agreed to buy.., I then gave him a lift to BorniteIdentity's in the 206 (85 mile round trip without incident so I'm calling that a success on the head gasket front) where he bought Bornite's Granvia. Today the Maestro van went straight through its MOT - must use it more next year! On Wednesday the C1 goes for MOT, which just* leaves the Multipla, Corsa and Punto to sort out and use/sell on after the impending lockdown ends (all except C1 currently have 2 - 3 months MOT and are theoretically for sale as they currently stand if anyone's desparate and can collect before Thursday!). rusty998
We have one albeit a 107 that our friend borrowed back in May and now doesn't want to give it back, buzzy little engine which makes it feel fast but it really isn't goes round corners well enough and is silly cheap to run, hope yours goes through the M,O,T BeEP

Previous owner said it had been chipped but no proof. Goes a lot better than Craig the Princess's 110 though. Gearbox/clutch/brakes spot on. Good tyres all round (although weirdly rears are 195/65 and fronts 195/60). Bodywork very presentable but does have the expected small dings/marks, an area of slightly mismatched paint on the front bumper covering a graze and a small crack at the bottom of the tailgate. Windscreen has a chip to the lower offside corner but just outside the swept area. Interior in remarkable condition for a 15 year old Fiat. Still has original radio/CD but display is almost illegible. Spare wheel carrier missing (presumably cable had seized - common Multipla problem) so spare wheel is in boot. Two keys, both of which operate remote locking, original handbooks and receipts for lots of money spent. A few scabs underneath but I haven't found anything that would fail a MOT. Having said that, current test is only until 29th Dec hence the low price suggested on the other thread. I was planning to give it a quick whirl on Gumtree this week then put it in for an MOT if it doesn't sell. yes oui si

Will be repaired (doesn't have to be pretty, just functional) then for sale with a new MOT (hopefully!)... Is this bit sorted now then, or is that on the to do list? It's repaired and whilst it's not pretty I believe it's sufficient. The original design is a dome which both locates the top of the spring and provides a mount for the bump stop. Much of the dome had disappeared. It now has a flange welded on to locate the spring, and a separate 'cylinder' bolted through the arm to hold the bump stop in the correct position. Also forgot to mention there's a slight squeak from the aux belt which wasn't there a month ago! loserone
loserone
Sounds good. Showed it to Mrs L1 who pointed out that the facelifts look so boring they're ugly. BeEP
Various coming's and goings last weekend, all of which have been mentioned in other threads (I think). Firstly the Multipla departed to BorniteIdentity, followed 24 hours later by the C1 to Stephen01. Who in return left me this delightful* French thing, shown here after a quick squirt of APC and a hosing down... I'm not really sure what to do with it - use for a bit or just sell on so if anyone wants to help make my mind up please get in touch. 1.5DCi, MOT to June (although strangely vehicleenquiry.service shows it as lapsing this year, whereas check-mot.service shows it correctly), £30 tax, Clio alloys with matching tyres (one a bit worn on the edge). I have a headlight bulb to replace (bumper off job) when it stops snowing and am waiting for a centre cap key to arrive early next week. But it has the all important boot-chute, pointless sliding rear seat and an interior which will clean up respectably. £400 as it stands (with the bulb replaced, obviously). Finally, cars are meant to be used in all weathers, right? DVee8, Andyrew, Cavcraft and 12 others
SiC
Brave to have an ADO16 out in that weather! Mine is safely tucked up away while we get this freezing weather. I've never seen the MOT thing either - once I've decided whether to tax or SORN (within the next 24 hours) I guess I'll phone them and see if it can be corrected (of course, it may not allow me to tax it if that part of the system doesn't think it has a MOT!). Carpets are already respectable following a vacuum, seats need a clean. Spare wheel (full size) is in boot; I've yet to have a look to see what's missing (it may be that a full size wheel can't be carried underneath). Original handbooks present, no other paperwork, but has a Dayco sticker under the bonnet with a date in 2019 and mileage of 119k (I think - again will check tomorrow) which presumably relates to the cam-belt. Coolant was a bit low on arrival but Stephen drove 120 miles to me without issue and says he's never checked it! TBH, I'm probably better off using it for a month or two to iron out any issues - the £400 price is very much take it as is.
