Shitting in the shallow end. *Bile Hatred* pseudo collection.

Think that runs the PAS, ALT, and Water Pump so not something bodgable at the roadside with half a coke can and a piece of string.

Not really feeling fit for an autoaid collection adventure so collection is officially postponed for the day.

Back on a different train going the other way.

It's far from optimal/convenient for everyone involved, but it's a lot better to go wrong before collection than on a smart motorway or summat on the way home.

In other news, the Rexton continues to be a ridiculously  practical and economical ugly bastard.

It's been back to Central Scotland to stock up on fuel.

Changed the fuel filter with @Lacquer Peelon 100 percent veg oil it's requiring changed about every thousand or so miles. Filters are cheap and as long as you carry a fresh filter, a 19mm spanner and a bit of fresh pump diesel, it's changeable in ten mins.

First start after filter change:

There was an unfortunate casualty in the form of a BIG CHONKY MOTH that must have sneaked into the engine bay for a nice warm nap. Then the poor bug got cooked to buggery.

With the tank full again, it was set for a run out to Shitefest 2022.

All  packed up.

@Talbot even had a go at recharging the air con in a field in the shadow of a mountain. Sadly the condenser was leakier a leaky thing full of leaks.

Thanks very much for having a go though!

On the was home I bumped into a couple of beauties.

A luxury cruiser of distinction, seen here with a red Bentley.

It's still a cracking, cracking car. I'd drive it anywhere.

No problem, this is why I brought kit with me!

It has to be said though, it was indeed the leakiest system I have come across so far.  I couldn't get full vacuum in the system, and what vacuum was there disappeared faster than a thingy up a wotsit.

That's probably why it's so fast. Really light in the air con component areas. Weight saving, I think the experts call it.

Being an adventure seeking legend that likes cars and driving in cars, @sdkrc jumped at the chance to put the SYSTEM UP WITH THE TOP DOWN, PC ON LOCKDOWN.

With all the excitement, he had to nip to the loo before setting off.
