In other news I had to renew my driving licence as the photocard was expiring and was expecting a long delay. As I hold bus and class 2 it had to be sent off as you can't do those ones online, but it only took a couple of weeks or so which isn't bad considering the problems at DVLA

I think Eccles is near identical to my Dad's Focus. He's got a 1.5 Titanium in the same colour. And approaching the same miles too. We got it using my 'Privilege' discount new (I worked at JLR). It's been pretty much faultless in the time he's had it.

I've driven it a few times and it's everything you say - quiet, refined, economical and not at all slow.

Recently I managed to find an updated SD card for the nav, it was only about £20 though.

Earlier this year we tried p/Xing it against a Toyota Auris Hybrid but we couldn't find a decent one so it's stayed. Dad's arthritis is getting steadily worse (although he won't admit it) so I'd like to find an auto for him.

I'm wondering whether some sort of swap could work, as I'm now custodian of a MK2 Powershift (see my other thread). Mine's lower miles but he'd miss the toys in his MK3 I think. Plus I want to make sure mine is going to continue to behave itself before giving someone else a whole heap of trouble.

Well it's showing up as a V5 issued on the 25th around the time of the MOT so I'm expecting it to be going for scrap

it could have gone to a ford specialist or ford lover who could/can repair it !

My Lanos went a similar way to your fiesta (yes I had 2 daewoos) it has no tax or MoT and is probably laid up and no Sorn / in an OAPs garage waiting for its time

Possible I suppose. I don't like to think of or going for scrap as it gave me so much of its life.

I would imagine something like Tiger Seal would be more effective  (but rather permanent if you ever need to remove).

I assume its held on by clips which have broken and it may be worth pricing the trim up from Ford if it bothers you, as sometimes it can be not much more than buying some adhesive. Then again, could be extortionate and back to plan A.

First update of the year. I've had a weeks holiday from work, Eccles hasn't been used as much as I thought he would this week, never mind. Stepdaughter sent my OH pictures of a couple of Corsas she found on Faceache earlier, one was £400 and a complete fucking wreck, the other was £650 and looked OK from the pictures.

My OH has a Corsa and it's what  stepdaughter currently wants, though at one point she was on about an Audi, Mercedes or BMW, when she is older maybe but not when she is learning
