Eyersey1234
Just had a phone call from the garage, the nearside droplink is knackered.
Eyersey1234
Walking to pick up Henry now, £74 for the new droplink including labour, VAT etc
Eyersey1234
Looking at a bill that came with Henry it appears the N/S/F droplink lasted less than 2 years as it was replaced in June 2018.
Dan302
I've got the MK1 booked in tomorrow for an inspection of the suspension bushes, ball joints, steering etc as it didn't have it's MOT last month. I'd booked the slot for the wheel bearing on the C-Max but obviously that's not happening now so I thought I'd treat the MK1. How many miles has it done now?
Dan302
116000, I've done around 18,000 in it and yes it's actually a nice little car. Eyersey1234
sierraman
Droplinks on front no more that half hour a side assuming you’ve got to grind the fuckers off. Eyersey1234
Eyersey1234
Henry has had his longest run since lockdown today, a run down to Skegness and Wainfleet to get some photos. Over 150 mile round trip, not on the scale of some journeys he has had but a nice run out nevertheless. Dan302
Eyersey1234
Idly browsing through Faceache Marketplace tonight I was tempted by a MG ZR that was advertised for £123, that was until I saw its MOT history, just about every MOT it's failed with quite a list of jobs to do. Fuck that for a game of soldiers. Dan302
Dan302
I spend a lot of time looking at the chod for sale on Facebook too. Eyersey1234
Eyersey1234
We braved the weather earlier on to have a ride to Wharram Percy, a deserted medieval village in Yorkshire. Here's a photo of Henry resting at the picnic site at the former Sledmere Fimber Station on the old Malton to Driffield line. The site of the railway I volunteer at is across the road from the picnic area. Dan302, BL Bloke and LightBulbFun
Eyersey1234
Now that lockdown restrictions are finally easing hopefully I will be able to do a few more long runs in Henry over the summer, on the list at the moment are (hopefully) a few days in Dover which should have happened in May, a trip to Witley Court, Cheddar Gorge and Framlingham Castle. Eyersey1234
Another decent trip for Henry later this month, have booked tickets for my OH and I to go to Beeston Castle. English Heritage are doing a pre book system at the moment due to social distancing. Dan302
Eyersey1234
Just realised I forgot to report back on my pre lockdown trip to Shropshire. 831.7 miles covered in 4 days at an average according to the OBC of 58.3mpg.

That’s what diesels were designed for that sort of work. Is yours a wet belt or chain? Eyersey1234

Initially when they brought the 1.0 Ecoboost out Ford reckoned it was to last the life of the car but then lately backtracked and said it’s an 150k job. Eyersey1234
As far as I know the chains go on pretty much forever, AIUI the main thing with the wet belts was that a lot of garages didn't realise they had changed to a wet belt so when cars were in for a cambelt the lower belt wasn't getting changed, which of course meant they then failed. Eyersey1234
Henry loaded up for a tip run tomorrow, its surprising what will fit. He has also now done 24000 miles since purchase, no picture as I was on the A63 at the time. Dan302 and LightBulbFun
Eyersey1234
Henry now booked in for oil change, MOT and 2 tyres on the 26th June, I know there's the MOT extensions but I'm not happy about leaving it 6 months. LightBulbFun
