Guest Hooli
Something stuck in it? I'd fill it with WD40 as it might just be a build up of dirt you can flush out.

Eyersey1234
The EML turns out to be linked to the turbo boost hose.
Eyersey1234
Booked in for new tyres Friday, I'm getting Avons as I never had a problem with them on my old Fiesta. I've also got a pair of new tailgate struts coming from the bay of E.
mrbenn
Tailgate struts seem a common problem on these! Had to do them on my mk1. Actually, had to do them twice as the first replacement set only lasted about 18 months. Second lot seem better.

Eyersey1234
Finally got round to putting some WD40 in the seatbelt fastener, it's improved it so just have to keep an eye on it. It clips in just is stiff.
Eyersey1234
New front tyres now fitted and it's made a big difference to how the car responds. I'd suspected the balancing was out as it had a wobble on the steering at higher speeds.

Eyersey1234
The Focus appears to be losing water somewhere although there's no sign of a leak that I can see. Don't think it's OMGHGF as there is no gunge in either the coolant or oil and the car isn't overheating. Any fellow shiters have any ideas? mrbenn
With common failure points on these I'd be looking at:Ā - thermostat housing- coolant explansion tank- water pump

Eyersey1234
No sign of any leaks that I can see. Having left it for half an hour earlier coolant was draining back into the header tank. Anyone know if this is normal for Foci? It seems to still be using a bit but nowhere near as much as it was.
Eyersey1234
The old header tank was grotty as hell and it was impossible to see how much coolant was in without taking the cap off
Eyersey1234
Concensus of opinion is it's either an air lock or the thermostat housing. I'll see how it behaves tonight then check the thermostat housing tomorrow.
Eyersey1234
Bugger. Not an airlock, there seems to be a leak somewhere down the back of the engine. Been given some radweld to put in to hopefully seal the leak as unlikely to be economic to repair properly. Also needs new rear brakes so booked in for those on Wednesday.
