purplebargeken
Japan spec cars use 315Mhz frequency. no problem getting a new one as we have them in stock. ( YWX101230A ) Biggest problem of keeping it 315Mhz instead of changing to 433Mhz is "bleed over" from things like taxi twoway radio masts and emergency service radio masts. It can sometimes override your remote leaving you locked out and stranded.
purplebargeken
https://www.vitesse-ltd.com/products/ywx101230a Bit pricey though When home it'll be worth asking on the fb MGF forums if anyone can help. Am sure there will be someone.

purplebargeken
That is a good point. Check the battery terminal as well. It was always a bit on the floppy side.

purplebargeken
https://www.radiocodes.co.uk/ All you need to do is to go to www.mgrovercodes.com/ and identify you car model then key in the whole VIN plus your email....then you have to pay - £20 all in (whether you think this is a fair price is another matter on the other hand how much will it cost you if the car won't re-moblise?) using any number of on-line options. Around 20 minutes later your code will arrive in your inbox.

purplebargeken
When entering the code, please follow the steps below. The procedure has to be followed exactly as shown below or as described in your handbook or it will not work. After 3 failed attempts the system will not let you attempt this procedure again for 10 minutes (30 minutes for Land Rover).Using the ignition key insert it into the drivers door lock.Turn the key clockwise to the locking position (the doors will lock) and hold it in this position for at least 5 seconds. After 5 seconds slowly return the key to a central upright position. The first digit – Turn the key fully, as far as it can go, anticlockwise to the unlock position (the doors will unlock) then back to the central upright position. This should be done the amount of times as the first digit on your security card. The second digit – Turn the key fully, as far as it can go, clockwise to the lock position then back to the central, upright position. This should be done the amount of times as the second digit on your security card. The third digit – Turn the key anticlockwise to the unlock position again, the number of times shown on the security cardThe fourth digit – Turn the key clockwise to the lock position again, the number of times shown on the security card.Once this has been completed turn the key to the unlock position once.If the code has been entered correctly, open the door and the red flashing LED light on the dashboard will stop. You will now be able to start the vehicle.

loserone
Fob didn't seem to work when it arrived, so not just an interference issue. Doesn't mean it hasn't been broken by trying to fix it though. Apparently they set off with the back wheels in the air, but it was wobbling all over and turned it forwards instead. Not ideal weight distribution wise I suppose but if it keeps it stable.. recovered by just after 0300. Up at 0600 for work.
