There is low life from all countries and communities. Just scamming people different ways. Oh aye, it's a well known scam, but the oil and water look clear in the car and the vendor said they'd 'poured oil up the exhaust' which must be pretty much impossible. Was worried it'd be a bit 'vibey' to ride as it first appears when you rev it at tick over, but it's actually ok. 1st and 2nd seem quite leggy, but that's ideal for low speeds and saves gear changes. Haven't been quite forceful enough going into 2nd at times, so found neutral more times than I would have liked. Goes very nicely if you open it up and doesn't feel as cumbersome at low speeds as the Goldwing did. Still a heavy bastard of a thing to push out of the garage though. Minor gripe so far is that the indicators are Vectra levels of stupid. Why not have one l/r switch like a normal bike? Those boxers are one of the bikes I've always wondered about, not being of the CONSIDERABLY FASTER THAN YOW persuasion. They are, so I'm told, an acquired taste; something that you grow into. All I have ever read on them generally goes on about the shaft drive reaction and the agricultural gearbox, and the people I know who have owned them all loved them to bits. Have you still got it? If so, can't believe no-one's snatched your hand off at the price you were asking.

Possibly (probably) because I'm used to awful two wheelers, this actually seems quite nice. (replaced it with an Africa Twin that was ace and that with a KTM 990 Adventure that was even more acerer). On a BikeSafe course all the PCs referred to the BMWs as tractors and sprinted for the Fazer that Yamaha had lent them! Of course I'm an way off the mark here, everyone - EVERYONE loves the BMW flat twin.
Cavcraft
Today: (Red herring, I didn't get bus just walking past station on way back to car) Transport and fuel thus for: Next stop somewhere near Warrington: One of them is mine now: Boring story: When I was about 15, my sister's fella 'sold' me one of these for £20. Spent weeks earning the money and saving it up, then promise after promise from the twat who never delivered it. Day after day after day (for weeks on end) I'd be looking out of the window waiting for the bike and it never arrived. Got my money back eventually and my sister fucked him right off. Anyhow, fast forward 40 years and I finally bought one. Much cheaper than an FS1E or AP50, but probably much less desirable too. Got it a bit cheaper than I expected. Not totally original (would love to find some pedals for it) but nicely worn, imho. Number plate letters would suggest it originally came from a bike shop just over a mile from my house. Whipped out the pedals and bolted on some C50 footpegs (they are on a bar that bolted to the bottom of the engine). Got back, put the pedal set back on and returned the 'ped to my brother Much underrated compared to the AP50 and FSIE and far more reliable (as I remember it at the time) as unburstable for mechanically unsympathetic 16 year olds Totally ruined when Honda put the cable operated front disc on it and higher bars with horrible rubber mounts. Cavcraft
Thanks! The maiden ride was a laugh, needed a fair bit of choke to start with then settled down. It's been re-bored so I didn't hammer it, but it made it to 30mph here and there without struggling. The indicators packed up shortly after the speedo did, though the latter came back to life here and there. I'll take the cable off at the wheel end and have a look. Indicators probably the relay, as revving the bike didn't magically make them appear, ala flat battery. Stalled at tick-over a few times, but always re-started, not too arsed about that for the minute. My mate has a 125 semi automatic Lifan engine that should drop straight in, and have to say that's quite tempting. The rear tyre is perished pretty badly (another reason not to thrash it) but C90 ones are the same, so my mate kindly donated his good spare. Looks like there's a couple of C50/70/90 shared parts on these, including switch gear and wheels, which means if I decide to 'do it up' parts will be readily available and cheap. Oh, the horn is probably knackered, so there's another job! HarmonicCheeseburger, Dave_Q, Jerzy Woking and 1 other

My first road legal bike at 16 was a SS50 four speed on a N plate that could mostly keep up with the AP50's and FS1E's no problem. The game changer came when a neighbour gave me his rusty, neglected C70 from the end of his garden, once it's piston, barrel and carb were swapped onto the Honda it blew the two stroke boys into the weeds. Cavcraft
Right, time to turn to the Merc. The top part of the dash board (yellow warning triangle and indicator direction lights) didn't work, plus the seatbelt warning light stayed on. Some research suggested the dash needed to come out and be re-programmed, though luckily asking the question on a CLK owners page revealed a partially flat battery can cause it, as usually if the dash goes then the whole kit and kaboodle piss off with it, including the speedo. Anyhow, battery was flat this morning so put a fully charged, known good one on and crossed my fingers: it's only bleeding well worked! A celebratory fucking good hammering up the bypass was next, no sign of the smoke coming back, so all being well it was just because it'd stood for a while. Needs a few other things, front flexi pipe, couple of brake lines and a rear ARB, I think. Cavcraft
Uh oh, two days off to get over weekend and got a 'phone call. 'Do you want to buy a motorbike, it's a GSX750?' Erm, one nano second to think about it, then arranged to view. It wasn't a GSX though, it was this... The lads where it was gave me a shove up the 'ramp' and I used the winch too, which was pretty hopeless getting it on, but a God send taking the bike back out on my own... Tyres pumped up to help it push about... Sadly this is unlikely to be true, think bike imported as saying March 1994... No petrol tank or side panels, but the engine is spinning over which is hopefully a good sign. Burnside, DeeJay, 320touring and 5 others

Cavcraft
Today has thus far been fabulous. After dropping this off to its new home (with a 'shiter) on Monday... ...which, of course, meant valuable garage space was gained. How long did that last? FFWD to this morning, and time to fire up the van... ...and off across the border... (The above picture was coming home) ...and collected this from a 'shiter.. 20 minutes after arriving home and another 'shiter is here to collect the Yam... ...so I took the dog for a walk and grabbed a brew. An hour later, and another 'shiter arrives, this leaves... ...and some space juggling is done for its replacement. Namely, this... Can't even begin to describe how happy it's made me meeting the 'shiters involved and ending up with the DMW. A short test ride (for the LOLZ) on the Deemster was great fun, next proper day off work I get will make a start looking at various things on it.
