Fiat 500 sold and ready to post in the morning.

Now here's something different, for the little (or even big) girl in your life...

DSCN3401.thumb.JPG.bba57c65b23b24e3a0da73651f2b638a.JPG

Yes it's a doll.  It was called something like Baby Reborn and MrsR decided she had to have it, at vast expense, so of course she got it.  I think it's supposed to be a girl (the pink dummy is a bit of a giveaway).  The USP was that it's approximately the size and weight of an actual newborn.  It comes with a choice of outfits with labels like Next and Mothercare; I don't remember if we had to buy those after.  Also a blanket and feeding bottle.

MrsR wants £40 back.  I don't really want to post because it's heavy.  If only there was a big present-giving festival coming up and I knew people with young daughters...

Now sold, as is the big dolls' house with all the furnishings.  Still got the kit version though.

Incidentally I found another UB40 brochure the other day, from 2003 I think.  If anyone wants either, I'm perfectly happy for them to go as a pair, and they are postable.

Anybody want an Xbox?  It's the original iteration and comes with a bunch of games, and accessories including a steering wheel and pedals.  I can get some photos if you want.  £50 the lot?

Do you have any halo games with it, and is it postable?😉

Halo?  Unlikely, but I'll have to check.  Postable?  Er, no, it makes up way too big a box.

I've also got a Wii with several games and some accessories; again, something I just don't play with any more.  £75 takes that.

Here is the Xbox...

And the Wii...

DSCN3452.thumb.JPG.c4a6b0abfa1d56d97d1f9d656a21f6a2.JPG

And how about a couple of SLR film cameras, with additional lenses and other kit?

DSCN3459.thumb.JPG.7de06c07b25d5d4fdd592e6f10261a48.JPG

The cameras themselves are Zenits, basically the Lada of cameras: unsophisticated but tough.  Some of the lenses will fit; any that don't will be Canon bayonet fitting.  £30 the lot?

Also, some antiques*...

DSCN3457.thumb.JPG.9414f2040b866029edd98823b6fa7079.JPG

Interesting little case, what could possibly be in it?

DSCN3458.thumb.JPG.728371eb129beff891a86e61cb50e854.JPG

Hmm, matching teaspoons.  I don't think they're actual antiques, nor are they precious metal, but they're nice, have a little figure cast into the handle and are a complete set.  The case is even quite good.  These don't usually fetch a lot on the antique programmes, so a tenner?  I could post these too.  First thing in this listing I've been able to say that about!

Damn it I wish I was nearer for the X box and the cameras ☹️ I still have my old zenith camera I bought new in 1985, still works and takes good pictures too!

I'm happy to hold them under your name if you think you might be able to travel in anything like a reasonable time.  A deposit will hold them longer, of course.

Zenith made great cameras. I owned a couple of E and EM models and they were wonderfully over-engineered big things, but produced good results.

I kinda fell out of love with film photography and sold all mine on five or so years back, but they're certainly worth having if you fancy a crack at such a pursuit. Looks like a good kit there.

I can't disagree.  They're pretty basic but tough as old boots and relatively simple to use.  The EM (in my pic, the all-black one with no case) even has a built-in lightmeter to help you choose your settings.  45 years ago these were what I was using at art college, which introduced me to "serious" photography.  Excellent for student use!

Note they're too heavy to post..

I am happy to give a deposit mate. I know I should remember but where are you in this fine* land?

Not sure on when I can get to you but I am planning a trip up north in spring or summer to take my wife to the lake District.

 lake District.

Question answered!  I'm in Barrow, which is the bottom-left corner as you look at a map of Cumbria.  Spring/summer is fine, no problem at all.

I've got a vast quantity of small hand tools for woodwork and other crafts..  I inherited them from my dad and I don't even know what's there really.  I'm never going to use them.  Come and take away a box or two, and make a donation to the Tea Fund.  Many are in boxes made by my dad!

No rummaging, you take an entire box.  That's not too much to ask is it?

Also, as mentioned in Shite in Miniature...

They're EPNS, which probably means they were made either side of WW2, and they're by Newbridge; I've made the effort to read the stamp on the underside of the handles.  I've been looking at the market value and I think I've got it about right.

Programme and road book for the 2011 Cyprus Rally.  Fiver plus post, anyone?

Tell you what, I'll include postage for that fiver.

Meanwhile.....

THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO!

Just look at this, 30 years old and the box has barely even been opened...

...and helpfully, three pages of translation into English!

DSCN3511.thumb.JPG.b16d653ea303bffc1ce9d4b5ab21cb8e.JPG

Must be worth £30 plus post.  I've had it from new and I'm clearly never going to build it now.

Britains now...

I've mentioned this farm base before but I thought a photo might help.   It's early 70s, vac-formed, and is literally just the base, there are no fittings or accessories at all.  Free if you can collect.

Finally today: a 1988 Matchbox Colour Changer Porsche 959, on card.  And even in period-correct Woolworths bag!

DSCN3508.thumb.JPG.ea4f1fd67845e42636b5df02787b2326.JPG

Surely worth £2 plus post?

There's probably more to come too.

£30 plus post, which may be £4-odd because it's a big box.  That being said, I can slip the piggies into it so they can ride for free.  If you like I can get a postage estimate tomorrow.

Farm base and Porsche spoken for :)

Ok I'm going to see if we've enough interest in the Autoshite Dealership stickers to run off another batch.

I will need to pre-sell a minimum of 120 before I will place another order, and I have contacted the company that made them to recheck the run price.

I am also considering a new design with the url in it, but done so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb (and I corrected the boobies for this run!):

      I now own this.

Yes, I put a big scrape down the door loading it. It'll hammer out though.
All being well it should be at the house tomorrow.

I've got the car loaded up with parts, heading back home tonight, the seller offered to haul it down with his truck for the price of fuel so I jumped at that.
So, a bit of backstory. Guy bought the car back in 2010, running (ish), smoked about in it for a while then realized the original engine was toast. So, be bought a complete beater of a Fury which he broke for parts.
He rebuilt the engine a bit bigger, it's a 327 (5356cc) now, not a 318 (5211cc), tubular dual exhausts, few other ninaks. Gearbox was gone through he says.
Then the sad part. He's originally from California, posted in the navy police. He was serving back there for a while and while he was away he found a guy who was all about restoring old cars and sent the car to him to be rebuilt.
So, the guy chopped out a fair bit of rust, replaced it with metal, did a bit of bondo work then painted it. The car was originally white, and was chosen to be repainted by the seller in mauve.
He said "Whatever parts you need, let me know if I'll send it you", so was ordering parts.
He arrived back in Mississippi, stopped in at the place... The guy has skipped town, done an epically poor job of painting the car (though he did hang the doors and trunk well, I'll give him that), and applied a random sheet of steel with some pigeon-poop in the trunk where the trunk floor had rusted out.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I think I may actually get the car back down to metal, straighten it out and paint it. I've done better paint with aerosol cans.
So, he gets left with the car as you see it. Sad, but he got gypped out of a five-figure sum for essentially what comes down to a $200 paint job and a bit of crummy welding.
There's a spare block (might do something fun with that) and some trim, dash, odds and ends in boxes, some new lights, but there's a bunch of stuff I'm going to have to source. Looks like the car might have been in a hail storm at some point too, so that needs straightening up.
So, yes. Work, but should be fun.
      Phil

      Hey y'all,

This is my project vehicle. A bunch of y'all here will know it.

Bought for $150 back in 2008. That's actually less than scrap value here. Saved it from being pushed backwards into the bayou by the previous owner.

It looks like a Renault 9. It kinda is, in a way. It's the bottom of a R11 with the top of a R9 with the back that they came up with over here ad-hoc. The engine's about the same, it's an Espace block, bored out with a crank specific to the engine, and a 1.7 turbo head- to give a capacity of 2.0 litres. Makes the car shift like a scalded cat.

It's been a slow progression to this point. It's a low budget, low speed rebuild. Rebuilding it to mechanical factory spec. Bodywork is staying factory spec apart from the paint.

Currently almost ready to go on the road- just have the brakes to rebuild. If y'all want, I have the last five years I can condense with a few pictures

      --Phil

I've just bought this. Came up on FB marketplace just down the road from my unit, couldn't say no! Do I need it? No. Will it cause me grief? Almost certainly yes. Is it a big majestic bastard? Absolutely. It needs a few bits and pieces doing, including spheres all round and some warning lights supposedly caused by an ABS sensor. My Lexia won't talk to it, so that's the first order of business. Wish me luck!

My efforts of the last few months have come to fruition and I'm pretty pleased with the outcome
I'm a serial Omega botherer and some years ago I got a sniff of this 1996 Vauxhall Omega 2.5 V6 24v CDX manual that was no longer being used as it's only owner was no longer able to drive, sad circumstances meant it was stored unused for 5-6 years .  She was a non runner and in a neglected state by the time I was able to rescue it and  @worldofceriwas employed to bring her to me, excellent service and highly recommended!
When she arrived she was covered in the usual moss and grime and was still on the original 1996 tyres which were perished and barely held air.  Non running cause was found to be a completely ruined fuel system as the petrol in the tank had turned to a bright green mess that had dissolved all of the internal rubber pipes into a black sticky goo, I don't think I've ever smelt anything so toxic,  a thorough tank clean, new piping, sender unit refurbed , filter and new pump  and she burst back into life.
Further recommissioning work required was 4 x new Michelin tyres, Cambelt and waterpump kit , complete replacement exhaust system, service , wipers, alternator was refurbished with new internals, new battery and literally scores of hours of cleaning and gentle refurbishment .
The main dealer service history is incredible with 8 miles between services some years.  She walked her MOT and  now drives like a she has just rolled out of the showroom, unsurprisingly given she's only covered 17 k from new, the interior leather looks like it's just had the plastic removed at the dealers and the rear seats have allegedly never been sat in
