Sir Snipes
I love 80s and 90s Yank tat. It's always been a source of steep desire/interest for me, and I've been lucky to spot some proper crud over the years: 1989 Chevrolet Caprice Auto. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1991 Chevrolet Caprice Classic. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1985 Chevrolet Cavalier RS. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1995 Chevrolet Caprice 5.7 Estate. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1981 Chevrolet Chevette 1.8 Hatchback. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1980 Chevrolet Monte Carlo 5.0 Coupe. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1990s Buick Park Avenue. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1992 Buick Roadmaster 5.7 Saloon. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1993 Buick Le Sabre 3.8 Saloon. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1991 Buick Regal 3.8 V6 GS. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1995 Buick Riviera 3.8 V6 Coupe. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1996 Buick Roadmaster 5.7 V8 Station Wagon. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1987 Oldsmobile Delta 88. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1992 Pontiac Bonneville 3.8 SSE Saloon. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1992 Pontiac LeMans 2.0 Saloon. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1990 Pontiac Bonneville 3.8 V6 Saloon. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1988 Ford Taurus 3.0 V6 Estate. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1983 Chrysler LeBaron. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1990s Chrysler Vision 3.5 Saloon. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1993-97 Chrysler LHS 3.5 V6 Saloon. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1977 Plymouth Volaré Station Wagon. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1993 Mercury Villager. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr 1980s Cadillac Seville Saloon. by Sam Osbon, on FlickrNow here is a guy with fantastic taste. DodgeRover
I don’t know how true this is, but I’ve been told even in the US the supply of really good cars is drying up so they’ve actually started buying exported cars back and importing them back to the US. Apparently many of the best condition collectible cars aren’t in the US anymore.Obviously that won’t apply to cars such as mine but top end muscle cars, fins ‘n chrome cars and older collectible models. Might be bollocks mind. It's true, many mustangs have gone NZ to US danthecapriman
Skut
Smol Murican. The 48-51 Playboy made in Buffalo NY. Only 98 built before money dried up. Better looking than the Crosley. Origin of the magazine of the same name. AMC Rebel and 59Impala

Bren
I have been looking at galaxie/LTD on tinterweb - in the states, not here. Some expensive, some reasonable. I wonder what the cost/ pain factor is getting one over here as American cars are overpriced in the UK.
Lankytim
I think AlistairK over on RR was selling his 70's Ford LTD cheap recently. It was amazing! Think it was only 2.5k as it had been in the boot of a Jaguar at some point and the front end was a bit damaged.
Three Speed
This is my New Yorker 2 door hardtop convertible. 6.8 litres of V8ness. We did a road trip to Sweden for the Power Big Meet a few years ago. It did 21.4 mpg on the way out at a steady 55 mph. We were doing 70-80 on the way back and I didn't dare measure the mpg. The sticker on the windscreen is from when I did the Sheer Hill climb. It was the only automatic car there. Push button gear change of course. It's quite big on the outside but it's not as roomy inside as you might think - although it will just about take six six-footers but the leg room in the back is a bit tight.Being a left hooker car park barrier buttons are a bit of a stretch but a new Mondeo is actually wider - mirror to mirror. You notice the length when parking - especially the overhang at the rear which swings out the wrong way. And it sticks out a couple of feet more than most other cars. Otherwise it's not too hard to get around in. solid61, Rocket88, alf892 and 8 others

sutty2006
My mercury 5.0v8 can achieve 30mpg on a run at 65mph. Epic really considering my tdv6 disco does the same. eddyramrod and LightBulbFun

I wonder what the cost/ pain factor is getting one over here as American cars are overpriced in the UK.When I had my Thunderbird delivered from L.A to Taunton via Southampton it came out at just under 2 grand including all fees and the vat on an $1800 car. West coast cars tend to have less rust but the shipping fees are about double compared to shipping from New York.
