jon928se
RoRo shipping is probably out as it is normally DoDo (drive on off) simplest way would be to container it from current location to where you want to receive it. I can probably find out interstate transport contacts once home but the logistics of transferring either into a container at the port or pushing it onto a RoRo would be amusing. Cavcraft
In layman's terms (trust me, have spent years trying and failing to make sense of it) reference towing and this 'MAM' nonsense, I have a question: Can a 1997 Galaxy TDi pull a (car transporter) trailer weighing just under a tonne (950kgs was mentioned) AND a car on top? Just thinking something like even a Mondeo would make the total towed to close to 2 tons, surely that can't be legal? Cheers.
kirton
I guess I could be banned for this but the blue in Speed, Plod and the Law has 22 pages of questions and answers on towing; may be you will be more enlightened than I managed

Doubt it unless the car is sub 500kg. Gross Train Weight is 4000kg. Galaxy fully loaded about 2500kg. Even if piloting the Galaxy solo running on empty, the numbers are against you. Eddie Honda
As in thin driver, four passengers and a load of luggage. Most cars would allow 75Kg per person and a bit for luggage

3VOM
My signum is now deciding not to start. I get a number of lights on the dashboard but not the immobiliser one. Key just not making starter do anything. Start checked, it works fine. Is this an Immobiliser / Module CIM? problem that's a pain to fix?
stillOrange
Does any Autoshiter have family, friends or any other contacts or acquaintances in Argentina??? The only thing I'm missing for the project F133 is the rear emblem, only available in Argentina... https://listado.mercadolibre.com.ar/insignia-fiat-

stillOrange
They are not expensive and obviously I will be covering all costs. Problem is paying for goods on that website. I need someone in Argentina that will buy the emblem and send to me. I'm happy to send money upfront via PayPal or bank transfer. busmansholiday

paulplom
My work van, a 2015 custom limited remapped. I was stuck in traffic yesterday morning at a roundabout after a fast blast on the A19. I blasted it away on the roundabout and left a large cloud of blue smoke behind me. I've never noticed it before and I've tried a few times to get it to do it again with no result. Could it just be the dpf regen? or is it something more sinister to look forward to? It's just about to turn 30k miles wise and has full history. TataBobu
Try this: idle the van when hot, for about 5 minutes. Then have a buddy really slam the accelerator while in neutral, and look for smoke. If it's there, you might need this little ones changed:
paulplom
I doubt it's the valve stem seals at 30k. I'm hoping it was just the egr regenning. Didn't happen yesterday. I'm paranoid now and I'm looking in the wing mirror more than looking where I'm going.
EssDeeWon
Any sprayers on here? How much to respray a 75? Never had a car painted before but at some point my 75 will need doing as its faded badly in places. No rust, panels are straight no dents etc.. What sort of money would I be looking at out of interest to prep and paint (non metallic). Obviously not a bare shell strip down, I mean just the outer skin. I genuinely have no idea, £1k or £4k or anywhere in between?

I have yet to find a sprayer worth using who isn't snowed under with work and who can stick to any kind of deadline. EssDeeWon

It’s not a car I plan to sell so I don’t see it as something to get my money back on. Would be nice to take it back to its former glory one day. thanks that’s gives me some idea anyway. EssDeeWon
thank you mate, that's useful to know. So £2k min seems to be the score on the doors.
sierraman
Minimum. It’s not just a case of mix the paint and whack it on. Hours of preparation and filling involved before you even get near the gun.
clayts450
The old Edd China mantra trotted out in nearly every episode of Wheeler Dealers is do the prep yourself and save a few quid
Mally
But when your prep is not up to the standard required by the spray man, he will redo the prep and charge you or may even refuse to spray it. 3 grand I reckon. Patina they call it, leave it alone. From experience, if you have it done, you may crash, or someone will scratch it within 3 months. sierraman
I’d say almost without exception he’ll not be happy with your priming. Unless you’ve a gun it’ll cost you a fair whack to prime it yourself.
