MrBiscuits
One of these for me, though it was a more 70's shade of gold. A few years later my little sis would've come home in something like this: My own son had this experience - it was a 2.1 auto too for extra shite points: ProgRocker

ProgRocker
I think I was brought home from hospital in a red 1974 (M reg) Cortina 1600 or 2000 XL estate. It had RoStyle wheels for extra sportiness and would have been a 3 year old car back then.
Tamworthbay
I was born at home, and as my Dad never drove a car and taking a baby on a Honda would have been frowned upon even in the 70s, it would have been a Barton’s bus for my first trip wherever it was. BL Bloke
Assuming I came home in my Dad's car it would have been an Austin A35 van fitted with a rear seat, similar to the one below. The Vicar and strangeangel
The_Equalizer
I'm presuming I was brought back in a Rover P4 because we had them for a long time. My son was taken home in the Land Rover S3. The normally forgiving missus was not best pleased. This was compounded by me insisting we go to Tesco on the way home because 'having a baby isn't going to changes things.' The_Equalizer what a fool you were.

AndyW201
It was 1974, and in a Vauxhall Viva HA SL, same spec and trim as this, But in that special Vauxhall red of the time that went the colour and shininess of strawberry milkshake when the car hit a year old. Dad was a bit of a shiter when myself and my brother and sister were small. After he passed his test, he had some decent stuff like an E series Cresta, a MK2 Zephyr (Dad was a bit of a ted in the early '60s!) and a bright red mk 1 Cortina. I think when he and mother_201 married and bro and sis_201 came along, he had to go down to slightly less grand stuff. Mother rembers a grey 105e Anglia that looked half decent but had the tops of the rear shocks come through the mounts. I also have a pic somewhere of bro and sis, a couple of years before I came along, stood in front of Dad's Mk1 Escort estate (RUB 483G) already by then minus the front bumper and with an impressively deep underseal tidemark. I remember being quite young (about 1 or 2) and dad working on an old MK2 Mini. The Viva was gone by then so the Mini must have been a stop-gap. I remember it had a one piece flip front on it and would never run right, so that front was flipped open quite a bit... Not long after, I remember going with him after school to pick up a new car, an immaculate 3 year old Avenger (YWW 159L) in white and going to pick Mother up from work in it. I think that was the first good car he'd had in a while. That weekend it was up on ramps and out with the waxoyl! It did us proud for a good few years. It was replaced by a later Chrysler Avenger (BYG 745T) in AS brown with brown interior. It was mint, body and interior wise, but being an ex W. Yorks CID car it was up on the miles and needed a new engine before long. Which turned out to be not much better than the one that came out... The parents had new cars from then on. As for 201_ jr_ girl, she came home in my bornite 1993 Mercedes 190e (J500 JRS), 201_jr_boy came home in the wife's Ford C Max. (NU57 OVC)
dozeydustman
Neither of my parents drove when I was born, so nana dustman brought mum & me home in a baby-shit coloured Mini Clubman estate, while dad got a train back from London. For the train buffs, dad would have been on a 4SUB in BR blue
Dannyk
Was told it was My grandads One of these because my dads (austin) metro was fucked. In 1988. He replaced it with a mk2 cavalier shortly after. My daughter was brought home in her nans cityrover, because her mum had a thing my mk2f polo coupe wasn't good enough

Rovorsche
It was meant to be a half timbered Morris minor traveller, but on the day it was unable to travel due to a suspension issue. NorfolkNWeigh
Been thinking about what cars my own offspring came home in,it was August 87- Sierra 2.3 Ghia auto in metallic purple and pepperpots- A739 WVV. February 90- Peugeot 405 1.9 GRi in metallic blue and Sri alloys- F685MNM. June 93- XJ6 4.0 manual in gunmetal with Sportpack 16" crosspokes- J608 SPG. September 97- no more company cars and I'd bought 3 7 seaters in anticipation of our 4th child; a D reg Montego 2.0i VDP, a C reg Audi 100 Avant and a W reg 505 Family 2.0 auto, I think it was the Montego, although all 3 were sold and replaced with a Renault 21 Savannah within a couple of months. Ghosty
I'm not 100%, but I have a distinct feeling it wouldn't be my dad's Capri 1.6 Laser I was brought home in, so I'm going with F473KNF, a 1989 Ford Fiesta 1.1L automatic in maroon, with wheeltrims from a Fiesta 1.6S, but painted cream like the L wheeltrims should have been. I'll have to look for an actual photo of it, but for now here are some examples:
Macscrooge
That would have been my dad’s pale blue Hillman Imp. No photos I’m afraid. I was also driven in this car across the Tay Road Bridge on the day it opened. On a ‘C’ plate, it was pretty new at the time. It was his first company car and surely unconnected with Lord Rootes being a board member....
Retr0naut
It would have been a relatives car so I don't know exactly .By way of compensation here is a picture of my fathers first car that he would have bought when I was around two years old ?
