Schaefft
A Xedos 6 really would be perfect, I did buy a 2.0 V6 manual one as a beater and it was the best 500 quid car I ever had, dead reliable, just a little rusty. Join the Xedos group on facebook and I bet you'll find a decent one in your budget. 500tops, Ohdearme and AnthonyG

BorniteIdentity
That does look pretty fucking rough tbh - and for another few hundred quid you get a lovely one. But AS membership dictates the worst example is bought - not necessarily at a competitive price. Looking forward* to seeing it next week! bramz7
Well that Clio plan went to shit as something tasty and cheap appeared on here. If anyone needs a car taking from down south to Scotland (or somewhere north) in early August, let me know. In other car related news, I spent money on the Audi today in the form of screen wash. Two weeks ownership, around 800 miles covered so far. Front tyres seem to be holding air now so I've opted to keep them on for the time being, and happily the wear is nice and even. It's doing it's 'an car' job quite well. Flat4 and Lacquer Peel
wuvvum
I'm actually strangely tempted by that Clio myself. Not sure I can justify going to Shropshire for it though (and won't have time to anyway for a few weeks).

I'm sure you could snare something a bit better than that, even on your budget. Edit, you've bought a Xantia? 95 quid Peugeot

bramz7
Yes, and it's a good opportunity* to go to Scotland. £42 from London to Dundee by train with my discount, not bad I guess. I can feel boredom encroaching with the Audi. It's just not a French car.
catsinthewelder
Sorry I've been elsewhere but I could probably fetch that Clio if anyone wants it. Just incase anyone does is there anyone that would give me and 2 kids a lift back from fotu on Saturday? I can even put some spare parts in the boot. catsinthewelder
Shes walking somewhere, I forgot she needed dropping at Scout camp on Saturday morning. bramz7
As per tradition, I am bored. Well, not bored, just itching for something with nicer seats. Audi potentially up for sale/swap. Swap for HDI engined Xantia or 406, or a 2.1 XUD. I am reasonably open to something else French/Italian and diesel. Mileages covered dictate it must take the heavy oil. Long MOT, all belts renewed recently (no paperwork but it drives well and sounds very good, so I suspect this is all correct), recentish new clutch, new front calipers, decent tyres, clean interior and reasonable exterior with some marks. 173k. Gear stick tatty, rusty front arches, no stereo, can take a little while to warm up. Air con not functioning. Value is £650 or thereabouts. Not desperate, just putting feelers out. Love the way Italian is now featuring in your wanted lists more often, the bug has been caught! ? I`ve potentially been offered an early (P) Marea estate, unfortunately for you, its of the 5 cylinder 2.0 petroleum distillate variety (& unfortunately for me, doesnt meet upcoming ULEZ emissions requirements).
