So the C1 has been on fleet for about seven weeks now. In that time I've done just over 2000 miles.

The fuel stats are pretty good so far;

I live in Glasgow so a fair bit of my driving is in traffic, so I'm very happy averaging 66.5mpg. If I lived a bit less urban I could crack 70 no problem.

That's nothing. I went upside down on the swings then nipped a bird who was watching.

Was on the swings up my grans bit though and the lassie goes to the other school.

Bit of fleet movement, one in, one out and one back on the road after a layup.

First of all, the 405 returned from @Jimbob McGregor after a wheen of work and a clean MOT. It required a fair bit of work to bring it back up to scratch, I'm glad I left it in his capable hands! Loving having it back on the road and driving really, really well.

Thanks to @loserone for storage in his garden and @sdkrc for transporting it back north.

Then this came in from @blackboilersuit, being the gent that he is he even delivered it in exchange for a run home. I intend to use it for van duties then see how it has acquited itself. It's a tired car, but actually drives quite well and having a Stage 1 Noobtune, goes like fuck.

Then this went out yesterday afternoon. Headed North to Dundee with a forum member who may make himself known. It was a good little car but ousted by the diesel C1.

Final MPG scores on the doors for the 107;

Have you still got your lovely Lexus?

I do, although in a moment of stupidity I've let the MOT lapse.

It's due a service too. Will probably do it myself and get it tested locally as I can't see it being any fuss.

The book is all stamped by Lexus, but I'm not sure I fancy paying £300 for an oil change and MOT to preserve that...

Smoll update.

Never thought the day would come, but the 405 GTX is gone.

Took some photos on the Thursday, listed it on Friday morning and it was on the ferry to Northern Ireland with its new owner by 11am on Saturday...

Longest I've owned a car, but I just found I wasn't using it. I live in a flat and not having a garage to work on it contributed.

  • davehedgehog31 changed the title to Hedgehog Motors - Collection, 7pm tonight... AND ITS LIVE!

A @Tickmanwas met in Dundee and he has taken delivery of his new red steed from Sweden's premier marque.

Luckily this one made it to Dundee, unlike the last 9-5 estate I sold him. We don't talk about that.

Then on to Broughty Ferry for collection.

Drive back to Glasgow should be pleasant. It's a 1999 LS400 DHP (Dynamic handling pack) apparently.

Aha, just seen the ad for it on the Lexus forum which notes that it has been sold - looks a great buy for the money! Something I'd definitely consider if/when my Mk1 LS400 is no longer viable.

I remember the Mk4 I drove being notably brisker feeling than the Mk3 I had at the time.

So, a quick update/intro to the LS.

As alluded to, it's a 1999 Lexus LS400 DHP (Dynamic Handling Pack). I believe this consisted of 10mm lower ride height, stiffer springs, a thicker rear anti roll bar and 17 inch wheels. It does sit purposefully and I think the wheels are well suited.

The chap who owned it previously had it for 12 years and had documented his ownership pretty thoroughly. It's had all the routine maintenance you'd expect and nothing has been skimped on. Had a timing belt etc in January last year.

It's not perfect. The worst bits are some rust along the leading edge of the roof, the NSR wing has pretty bad lacquer peel and some bubbling on that arch. They're a bit at odds with the rest of the car which is very clean, so I'll definitely look to get them addressed.

The AC doesn't (not sure if regas m8), the sat nav doesn't and the NSR doesn't work on the central locking.

Drive back was very pleasant, set cruise to 62mph, assume the position and observe the nearside lane. Pretty decent economy for a 4.0 V8 barge!

Interior is lovely, ridiculously plush and wears its 180k very well indeed.
