MarvinsMom
made it home safe and in opne piece, many thanks to Eddy for organizing this meet, and lovely to see so many fine* machines in one place. and i hope that those who braved the weather all had a safe journey home. it was good to meet you all even if we did disappear to the museum and the cafe! Even better to see Eddy again, and looking well to. here are our pics from outside where it was wet (sadly, still cannot plan for the weather....) ah squiredawson's Humber, i desire this car VERY MUCH INDEED and once fortified with tea and cake, these pictures are taken inside egg, Squire_Dawson, eddyramrod and 12 others
Squire_Dawson
A splendid day out. Fortunately the sun burnt through the low cloud. Nice to meet up with people and meet Eddy, a gentleman, and his impressive Caddy. The museum was also very good, deceptive in its size because there was a lot of stuff in it. By the time we emerged hours later a lot of people had already left! Deffo would come again. P.S. The jacking point cover has been found... on the driveway. Doctormop, Conrad D. Ghosty
Glad you've been reunited with your jacking point cover. I think the Snipe got the best seat in the house... Nice to finally see the bike in the flesh. Late registration madness - imported '50s Traction on an X suffix. Angrydicky, Conrad D. Jim Bell
Some punters on the way out of the museum weren't sure whether our cars were meant to be exhibits or not and felt that they should have a look at them all just in case. Ghosty
Oh, here's one for Wobbler - an Invacar was hiding in a corner of the museum (this was the best possible photo of it). Don't misinterpret the sign, it's conventionally powered. Also, it has a steering wheel! eddyramrod
I'll have you know I deliberately and specifically asked the Squire to park the Humber where he did. There was no possible position that could have been better. And again, thanks everyone, I'm so glad you all enjoyed it. Conrad D. Conelrad
My photos would just be repetitions, except these ones where I hid in a caravan and spied on everyone else. skattrd, johngarty, eddyramrod and 12 others
Doctormop
An excellent day out despite the changeable weather Great to meet everyone in such convivial surroundings special thanks to Eddy for welcoming everyone personally and to Squire Dawson for the ride in the Humber I’m still grinning from ear to ear.I’m not always good in social situations and often try to melt into the background but really enjoyed every conversation today, Thanks again to everyone. privatewire, Squire_Dawson, blakey79 and 13 others
Guest Hooli
What an excellent day. We got a lot bigger turn out than I expected. Plus I got to travel in Squire's most charming automotive conveyance. Just look at the speed blur six up! Lacquer Peel
It was good to make it to an Autoshite meet up after about 10 years on the forum. I sat in Conrad's real Mini and found it surprisingly comfortable. I sat in Eddy's Caddy and found it unsurprisingly like a pokey 1970s gentleman's club. I drove an Autoshite bike to a foreign* land, put faces to names and drove a quick very yellow car. Excellent day, thanks Eddy and all who turned up. I took photos of mannequins and a sign as well. Ghosty
I looked up the SD1 Vitesse sitting at the museum. It has a valid MOT but hasn't been taxed since 1991?
eddyramrod
This might take a while...And yes, I did finally get to sit in it! It's got the makings of a rather good little car, I think.I got to sit in Hooli's Jag too. It's been too long since I had a Jag, I think it'll have to happen soon...I saved this space specially for Jo and Kerry, as I knew they were coming by Mini.I got to sit in the Humber too. Oh YES!Big Zit looks much nicer now than when I had it!Djimbob wanted to show off his Vauxhall shirt, so we found the only Vauxhall anyone had brought (thanks Chodweaver!).With a bit more care I could probably have made this look like a genuine photo from 1967!Got to advertise, right?I really should order myself some HubNut stickers...And there we have it. Bloody good day out there, spoiled only slightly by 1: the rain, and 2: not being able to drive. I did get to sit in some rather nice cars, and everyone who went round the museum loved it. Even lunch wasn't bad! Sorry I had to skip off in the afternoon, but my driver had a Subsequent Engagement. Never mind, I was ready for an outbreak of peace and quiet by then.THANK YOU to all who showed up, especially from far and wide. Those I've met before, great to see you again; those I hadn't, lovely to see you too. Any appetite for a repeat in the spring? Guest Hooli
Any appetite for a repeat in the spring? Only if Memphis turns up, that was false advertising getting us all there to meet her! eddyramrod and davidfowler2000

loserone
Ha! Someone took a picture of [a sticker in the window of] my car! Least popular car at meet for unloved cars winner. eddyramrod
Well... I did perpetrate some talk of a Spring fest, didn't I? It's now Spring, and I've done exactly nothing towards such a fest, so hearty apogolies for that. However...I've applied for a new job, and if I get it, I'll be working weekends, which would make a Spring fest impossible. So, if this disappoints anyone, I am genuinely sorry, but it'll be for the best. Thought it might be a good idea to keep you all updated.
