chatsharris
Before I came back from deployment in June, I only had owned three cars in ten years, one at a time.Since then, I've bought three more cars, all from Autoshite, best dealership network out there!Pretty certain I won't need it, but bag is packed. My chariot to the train station. chatsharris
John picked us up in his lovely Probe, and had a great chat as he took us to the Prelude. Fell in love instantly with it. Absolutely stonking motor. I forgot the pez station shot but I did a fill. Stunning from all angles! The money shot. Gauges! Just taking it back down the line down, it will no doubt be great. Many thanks to John for being a great seller and all round great bloke! Oh, and I'm already 120 miles down the line. It's driving absolutely brilliantly. JohnK
Whilst there is obvious enthusiasm in each of Alex's posts, nothing can compare to witnessing him seeing this car for the first time. Cheers for that mate !!!Genuine enthusiasm for the car, and totally involuntary. I was so excited it was unreal! I can't believe I own a Prelude now!! I got all the way back without a single issue. Everything in the car worked flawlessly, except the wipers either need a clean or replacing. Still got back safe enough though. Nah, that was a thick hoodie is all! rantingYoof
Nicely done. chatsharris
So I've had a couple of weeks with the Prelude now, and I absolutely love it. It's just so damn good looking and handles nicely! There were a couple of bits I wanted to sort out though - wipers were the first which were taken care of the next day. The main thing though - speakers! They sounded a bit past their best, and I do listen to a lot of music. A bit of googling gave both front and back sizes as 6.5", so a quick look on Amazon later and... Let's get to work. You had to remove the window switch, and a few screws. I believe this is the first car I've had that the door card is solidly built, the rest have always disintegrated! Anyway, once they were off, the back speakers were unbolted from the parcel shelf and removed within the cabin. The condition of the speakers? ABSOLUTELY KIPPERED M8! Not surprising, considering these were the original speakers. The replacement speakers were absolutely ideal, they fitted into all the OEM brackets and fittings perfectly with no need for amendments. They were even shallow enough for the front doors which I've been told is a thing. Anyway, it was all wired up, put back together and the sound is much improved. I've decided to keep the original head unit too, (with an FM transmitter for Spotify goodness) as I like the look of it, it's fitting with the rest of the car. Once that was done, the next task was to clean it vigourously. The interior was completed in stages, as I was also busy with work and trips to London. However, after a lot of scrubbing and glass polish inside, the interior came up beautiful and there is very little if anything I can find wrong with it! And as an added bonus, after I counted up all the change in the car it totalled £3.50, making the car even more of a bargain! The exterior was a much longer slog, completed in a day. I started at about 9 AM, and the day consisted of: - Shampoo/rinse/dry with Chamois- Full clay bar- Tackling deeper scratches with compound- All over polish and buff- Glaze the car like a Krispy Kreme- Apply a coat of wax- Glass polish exterior/interior. I finished at 7 PM, skipping lunch and having to re-organise the plan of attack due to one side of the car reaching 65 degrees. This was all done by hand, my arms were absolutely knackered at the end and I had to throw a load of painkillers down my neck. Was it worth it? Yes. A million times yes. fatharris, mrbenn, Vantman and 16 others
