During my slightly younger years, around the time I first discovered this site and began lurking on it,I regularly trawled Ebay and saved the pictures off adverts and stored them on memory cards. I did this mainly to have a nice little collection of pictures for PC wallpapers etc but it quickly grew into a collection a few hundred big!

It's of mainly BL orientation with some Alfa shite in there as well. Wish I'd kept on eye out for Japanese, German and French stuff but I was borderline obsessed with British Leyland's 70's/80's mismanaged poorly built output.

Some pictures are of poor quality but hopefully you'll enjoy them!

There a real authenticity about these sort of pics, expecially when theres stuff to see in the background that tells much more of a story about people and place than cars in line at a show. Especially sale pics; Decaying dreams of the past, abandoned hopes, and plans for the future. Its all there if you look. Thanks for sharing!

If youve got any E bay metro vp500 pics from october 2008 my first Metro is likely to be it.

Crikey that sherbet yellow Morris Princess is GLORIOUS. I have a collection of ebay motors pictures from around 2007/8 but its all Mk1 Mondeos, MK5/6/7 Escorts and such like, nothing as grand as these!

It's really interesting to see what was available cheaply about the same time I joined up here. How things have changed!

Yep! my only slight regret is that I didn't screenshot the whole adverts including the prices.

I wouldn't mind seeing those Mondeo and Escort piccies!!

Great thread; I thought I might find a couple I've owned!

Citron yellow Morris 1800 wedge - bought from ebay September 2011 (it had also been sold maybe a year earlier).  Now owned by one of the mechanics at the garage in the village; he's used it as his everyday car for two years (looking much like above) but has now taken it off the road pending restoration.  Here it is in my barn a few years back:

Harvest gold Allegro estate - bought from ebay in 2008 by a friend specifically to show on the club stand at the NEC show.  I bought it from him in March 2009, used it until the MOT ran out then parked it up until 2015,  It then had a fair bit of restoration (by the same person who now owns the Morris wedge) and has been used a fair bit since.  I've put a few photos of it on here in the past, but here it is again (it's also in my avatar)
