Invitation to the UK Premiere of IRAN's ARROW

Can you name how many marques the Arrows were sold under?

 

I'm no expert, but I believe that in the UK, they were sold as:

  • Hillman (Minx and Hunter, 1966-1976);
  • Singer (Gazelle and Vogue, 1966-1970);
  • Sunbeam (Vogue, 1970-1971); 
  • Humber (Sceptre, 1967-1976) and then
  • Chrysler (Hunter, 1976-1979). 

In mainland Europe and North America, the Sunbeam marque was used on most Arrows, because this was the best-known Rootes marque overseas. A mixture of model names and trim levels were used in different countries under the Sunbeam name (Minx, Hunter, Vogue, Arrow).

 

In Australia, the car was sold as:

  • Hillman - HB Range (Arrow and Hunter, 1967-1968) - same as UK models (CKD kits)
  • Hillman - HC Range (Hunter and Hunter Royal, 1968-1970) - some different features to UK models
  • Hunter - HE Range [as a marque in its own right] (Royal, GT, Hustler, 1970-1972) - unique rear lights and other trim

In New Zealand, the car was sold as:

  • Hillman (Hunter, 1967-1970)
  • Singer (Vogue, 1967-1971)
  • Hillman by Chrysler (1970-1979)

In South Africa, the car was sold as:

  • Hillman (Hunter, Arrow, Vogue, 1968-1976) - using 1618cc Peugeot XC engine, from the 404
  • Chrysler (Vogue 2000, 1976-1977) - using 1971cc Peugeot XN1 engine, from the 504
  • Dodge (Husky pick-up, 1976-?) - unique pick-up body, using Rootes 1725cc engine

And, of course, the Paykan.

 

As far as I know, the Paykan utility pick-up (Bardo 1600i) used a different body to the South African version.

Wow! Very impressive!... I tink you have it all covered. So basically under 7 different marques: Hillman, Humber, Singer, Sunbeam, Chrysler, Dodge, and Paykan
