I have not, thanks for the heads up, ill respond shortly :) (probably directing him to this thread/forum so I can keep everything in one place!)

(I do check in on my thread there but only every now and then, I mostly Just monitor Zels TPA thread there LOL)

funnily enough this is not the first time iv come across PPL787, its the 3rd time now! wonder if its the same chap as on the rum car thread (they both sign off the post with "David" so I think so :)

first time was on the RumCar thread, then I found it again by its chassis number during my Stanley Argson research and now again on the RR thread! (I did duly make a post on PPL787's RumCar thread once I realised I had PPL787's chassis number)

speaking Stanley Argsons, when I was running the chassis numbers and came across PPL787 I couldent help but feel like I had seen that registration before

this is interesting, came across PPL787 a Stanley Argson Model 44, when running Model 44 chassis numbers through my tool

the interesting thing about it, is it "acts" exactly like JNJ135L does

it shows up in 3rd party tools, shows up in the MOT checker, but WONT show up in the main DVLA/tax checker

image.thumb.png.9894b472665ae4df3d24807238f59424.png

and like JNJ135L it does not have a CoD, that would normally cause such a situation...

image.thumb.png.8a65881683d376e6789f75d821c4b2d7.png

I really do wonder why these 2 vehicles wont show up on the DVLA checker themselves, and what would you do as an owner of one! (I guess call the DVLA about it?)

its interesting to note that when I try and check the Tax status of both with my 3rd party I get a null result, I wonder if somehow the taxation status for these 2 vehicles has been corrupted or went missing

and as such the DVLA checker for some reason cant handle this and refuses to show the vehicle?  it is worth noting that for CoD issued vehicles the taxation info also returns null on 3rd party tools

(little bit frustrating too, as PPL787 has a some slight oddities about its info, that make me curious for its tax due date)

and I wasn't wrong! http://rumcars.org/forum/index.php?topic=5537.0

Looks like its a survivor :) (and possible one that was in service for a long time going by the 12 inch wheel fitted at the front)

I find it a bit amusing he, doesn't know the chassis number of it, meanwhile I came across it (again) via its chassis number!

but the Model 70 is a new one to me/not one I immediately recognise, so thats pretty exciting :)

Well spotted! Suggest @LightBulbFun messages the poster and asks if he'd mind going back and finding and photographing the chassis plate for the records. Lower body looks in good order!

Yes, just in the same position as on the MK12.

Yes, I reckon @BlankFrankmight actually get a couple of bits off that, even in that condition!! Chassis plate looks clear.

Keep up the good work LBF, you have more Model 70's on your list than I have K reg Mondeos on mine, so there's a target for me.

Great find! That wants dragging out, I bet there are loads of good bits on it. Who loves Invacars and is in the Midlands, then?

Edit to add: Just spent some time looking at that page. My word, there are some hilarious* facebook users. Reminds me why I don't bother looking at car-related pages no matter how interesting the subject matter might be. HUH HUH BEST PLAICE 4 IT M8 HUH HUH

Yeah its a small miracle  the chassis plate has survived, I do wonder how much chassis is left under the remains of the bodywork

if its even remotely serviceable then it might be good for re-chassis some other Invacar Mk12's I know of who sadly have no known ID at all, once @BlankFrank is done taking bits off it he needs of course :)

do wonder what its Chassis No is, as I have pretty managed to find/figure out the registration marks of almost all Invacar Mk12D and Mk12E's (which this one is with its 7 inch head lamps, Mk12E switched to Model 70 Parallelogram front suspension but I obviously cant see though fibreglass sadly to tell that! so I just know its 12D or 12E)

so it will be very interesting to see which it is, and if I had unknowingly found still on the DVLA beforehand :)

looks like I cant comment on the post without joining the group and im part of enough facebook groups as it is! but ill send a message request to the chap who found it and hope he gets back to me!

As others have noted, there can be some very odd people who post of FB groups, so probably better to make enquiries directly and privately to the OP rather than comment in public on that post. Public comment won't end well, I feel...

indeed thats what I meant by message request, its facebook speak for send someone a message directly (when your not already friends with them, hence the name message request, as its a request to talk via instant message)

and yeah, if I was allowed to comment I would just post something like "awesome find" just to register interest etc, all detailed discussions esp of chassis numbers etc I always take privately

Stanley Argson mother-load! I really hope they end up in a good home and preferably someone I know so I can track their progress (how I wish I had a garage right about now!)

SPD906 UPE517 and UPE519 are all previously unknown Argsons I think, so its very exciting!

would love to know what their history is

UPE517 even shows up on the DVLA! untaxed since 1990 but marked as scrapped in 1999 I have a feeling it might be an Ex Heywood store, vehicle  (it never showed up when I searched the DVLA database for all 2000 Ministry Argons by chassis number as its DVLA chassis number has a Typo in it obscuring it from my search)

its a shame that they where all disassembled like that with all the parts jumbled up since it makes it harder to tell what parts belonged to what machine (they are all Ministry specification Electric Stanley Argson Model 44's but its well known that no 2 invalid vehicles really are the same!)

but immediately of note is the front fork fitted with a 1957-1975 Ministry specification 12 inch Dunlop LP 591 wheel, which was fitted to some Late surviving Argons in the 1970's to reduce parts holding and ease issues around getting replacement wire wheels

here is an image dump from the ebay listing to preserve the images after the listing is pulled by ebay when it ends

hello @lightbulbfun the hoard is in safe hands!  It is going to join PPL 787... (by the way, the chassis plate was on it when I bought it but was badly scratched and painted over, I tried my best to register it and the DVLA said it was the wrong chassis number so have withdrew the registration number..... Could you let Me have the correct number please?  Any joy on the Invacar ID? cheers David

I've just commented on the post to clarify it's a MK12 (as Mrs Six has noted), but for reasons noted above won't ask any questions!

to be pedantic its an Invacar Mk12, I noticed in several places you have posted "Mk12 Invacar" always makes my eye twitch LOL

as its the same as saying "Robin Reliant" LOL :)

Ah hello! welcome to the Forum!

glad to see you are on here and that the gaggle of Stanley Argsons are in good hands :)

ill drop you a PM with regards to PPL787 and your Model 70 :) interesting to hear that the DVLA withdrew PPL787's number it  finally explains why it does not show up on the DVLA checker, but does on the MOT checker and my special tools (as I thought its exactly like JNJ135L's who's number was withdrawn when she was sadly falsely declared manufactured 1965 and given the age related number HKH330C)

speaking of I sent a private message to the chap on facebook who found the Invacar Mk12, hopefully he sees the message request and responds!

(I know from personal experience these message requests can fly under the radar a bit)

yay I got a picture of the Facebook Invacar Mk12's Chassis plate

its not all that clear and he said that he will go back for a better shot which is very nice of him :)

but thankfully I have managed to get enough info that I think I know what its chassis number is (theres 1 digit thats not clear but I can see the stamped year/month of mfg and that tells me what the missing digit is)

of course it falls into the 2 blocks I have not found between MPU400J and MWC701J, so ill return there and hope I can find something (Im pretty sure MVW301J-MVW400J is a block but I dont know if its the first 100 or the last 100 sadly)

On 10/01/2021 at 13:04, LightBulbFun said:

and then between MPU400J and MWC70J im actually missing 200 cars so 2 blocks, I know MVW301J-MVW400J is again a block but where none show up on the DVLA anymore, but again since I dont know what the 2nd block is, im not sure where the MVW-J block sits within the 200 missing, it is a bit puzzling tho tho as I went through the Mxx-J Essex registration series's  and apart from MVW-J I dont recall finding any other Invacar sized holes, it could be I missed something or the block of 100 im missing next to MVW301J-MVW400J is actually 2 smaller blocks of 50, sadly Invacar Mk12 chassis numbers are just that, a string of numbers so I cant look up Mk12's by chassis number  with my special tool as they are not unique enough and there is usually always a newer vehicle with the same chassis number so I get that one instead

May be an image of 1 person, standing and outdoors

neat! :)

its an AC petite, a large microcar, separate from their line of invalid vehicles

(although if you look at the Front suspension of an AC All Weather Tricycle and an AC petite you may notice some similarities!)

No chance of seeing the reg, but on BBC Archives Facebook:

image.thumb.png.bdaafb340e27eba6301cb0a42fd82470.png

Yeah its a shame the reg aint visible, white on black plates means its an early Model 70, 1970-1972, and its a shame the rear lights are not clearer, that would tell me if its one of the 20 Prototype Model 70's pressed into Ministry service for user trials, which had Lucas L572 rear lights like the Model 67

I have never seen one in the wild sadly, but I know they where left in service even after the Model 70 entered production, and one (BPE29H) even survived until the end in 2003! so im hopeful a picture of one will eventually turn up :)

not the first time its been papped tho :) but as always I appreciate the heads up :)
