Hi,

I'm Weirdo - I've been browsing this forum for probably 15 years or so & decided to join because I can contribute some pics to spotters threads etc.

I love old cars and bikes & have a couple of old bikes.

The old bikes I have are an RD125DX 1976 & a TS125 1972. I have no room or need for a car currently but have a great interest in them & appreciate the enthusiasm on this site & want to join in when I have the time.

A pleasure to introduce myself to everyone 👍

Even more familiar, I brought it into the fold.

Initially I was sad that it left the forum but it ended up bringing the owner here so a warm welcome! Oh and first dibs if you decide to y'know, get bored of it.

Hello, just sorting a few of the niggles out, drivers control for electric rear window switch replaced, passengers rear window motor/cable replaced (cable snapped) going to do drivers side rear as a bit slow. Replaced front centre arm rest as a bit tatty. Oil and filter done and replaced the alternator belt and tensioner as a bit noisy. Rear brakes sorted but when the wheel was off did see it needs a bit of welding done near the back suspension mount, will do that when weather gets better. Then        I will address the lacquer peel/ paint issue 😕.  I have wanted a 166 for a while now so I am happy now 😀

Hi All,

I have been here for a while and an introductory post was in order.

I am Ahsan, based in Northampton. Passionate about cars, especially those from the late 20th century :) Mercs and Old Asian makes are my thing. I am a keen detailer and restorer.

My daily driver is a Mercedes CLC 200Cdi and the other half drives a Seat Leon Mk3

Give it time...  Welcome along!

Can't wait to get inspired. I'm currently driving 2018 tipo 1.4t-jet. At the rate modern flats are getting autoshite status all I need to do is keep it for another year or so. :D

Does having a lot of car cosmetics but no time to apply them count as being detailer? If so, count me in! ;)

@Rad_slav How do you rate the Tipo? the OH was very close to buying one but then settled for a seat leon.

I like it, I was on the hunt for a large -ish hatchback and tipo ticked most of the boxes. The 1.4t-jet won't win any races (or maybe that's driver issue) but allows to cruise comfortably at motorway speeds, 6th gear is a blessing. It is a bit thirsty but then it's driven mostly on short distances nowadays... went for s-design option and the interior is large and comfy. So you're getting a lot of car for less than the premium brands.

@Ahsan I'm sorry, I've no idea why my post landed in a different thread. I've asked moderators to move it, but in case you're desperate for my opinion on Tipo, see the quoted bit above :)

Evening all! I was lured to join the forum by a Motorpunk legend ;) I don't own anything in me fleet that would meet the high standards of this community but I could contribute by taking some half decent photos of cars around East Midlands area.

There are no restrictions to what you own.  So settle in and take a chair, but at a distance. 🪑😷

Hello,

Fairly new here, so you ask what brought me to this site, cheap as chips motoring that and j do love a good s***box from time to time

Current car is a cheap MK1 1.8 MX5 import that I've finally got round to sorting those sills and arches however there's a few jobs I need to sort out

The other car well is a joint project with me and my old man, a MK2 escort 1600 sport that we imported from sunny South Africa last year during lockdown, impulse purchase yes, worth it, Evey penny
