Total pain in the cock to clean though. :(

There's something maddening on a deeply fundamental level about knowing that it's taken you 50% longer to do the exterior part of the valet because of the damned wheels...

I feel your pain - took as long to clean the wheels as it did the rest of the car

I've always had a thing for Pontiac 8 lugs.

That sounds like an ailment, (I've come down with a bad case of Pontiac 8 lugs)

What's going on there?

You can't just post that without explaining! I've never seen or heard of such a thing on something as big as a Pontiac before. Is that a brake drum with a wheel rim bolted round the edge, as seen on some smaller European and Russian cars?

I think the answer is "kind of, yeah"

Wasn’t the P6 also available with wires? That must look rather odd

Not that weird to be honest, maybe because of the  quite delicate details of the S1 P6.

Unlike this, which I found when looking for a P6 picture, I suppose it’s no more odd than wires on an S-Type or 420/Sovereign, which is quite common.

Minilites have been very common on P6s since the Met specified them on all their SD1 2600 autoArea Cars in the early 80’s to try to combat brake fade. Their must be more genuine Rover Minilites in existence than for any other car.
