Popular Post dollywobbler
So, I went and saw a little Reliant again today... Bought! I have the logbook and everything. Will come with the original, f*cked engine not fitted. It does roll, tyres do hold air. Has been parked up for two to three years since the engine seized after a core plug fell out. First challenge, get it home... coalnotdole, Junkman, tinribs and 66 others
smellypoo
That's mega rare!!! I remember seeing Regals, Robins, Rialto's and Kittens, but not one of these... What are the plans once it's back home?

Jim Bergerac
You just can't stop winning, can you? Funnily enough, I saw one of these in the same green colour (previously thought they were all cream or beige) the other week, put the pic up in the Lazy Spotters thread. captain_70s
First challenge, get it home... Buy the lorry in the background, chuck the Fox in the back, drive home. Job jobbed. Supernaut, Dick Longbridge, Exiled_Tat_Gatherer and 5 others

What are the plans once it's back home? Main plan is to find an engine for it! Fiat FIRE engines, which can be made to fit, have started getting quite expensive, so I think I'll stick with originality and try to track down a Reliant engine. That's far more my style anyway. Brake pedal is rock hard, so brakes will need work. Assuming it's the same drums I've got on the Invacar, so at least I've already got the correct adjuster spanner. oldcars, cpjitservices, Exiled_Tat_Gatherer and 3 others

garethj
Excellent work, is green for the aristocracy while beige is for the proles? I’ve never seen them in any other colour.
Felly Magic
I've just been looking at the cost of replacement engines, £300 gets you something that's been sat out of a car for 6 years, a running engine with gearbox is £500, with no real question how healthy that engine is. Even stuff like new flywheels are over £250! Now you can see why even fucked Rialtos & Robins go for stupid money

Mally
I used to have everything but it was a while ago. Mostly gone now.Parts are expensive, I think I have a crankshaft and maybe con rods somewhere, but hopefully you won't need them.

It’d be a very interesting project though.I don’t really know much about leccy cars but could it not be done on a budget using reclaimed motors etc? I suppose the big killer items would be decent batteries though.

RayMK
If you draw a blank looking for a reasonably priced Reliant engine which has some hope of working without needing a full rebuild (= expensive), then some of the small Suzuki front engine, rear drive units may be adaptable e.g. from the Suzuki Carry or Bedford Rascal. I suppose the big killer items would be decent batteries though. There's a chap in Ireland who does electric conversions himself and puts videos up on YouTube, for a while he was using scrap DC forklift motors. He did attempt a 1000euro build on an old e36, not sure if he finished it. The videos go on a bit too long and start to get quite dull but ... danthecapriman
