Albert Ross
Gentlemen, may I introduce you to the Le Mans Eight. By Racing Green Engineering.http://www.vintageracinggreen.com/4655/index.html Based on a Rolls-Royce chassis from 1950ish... Seems the rotten bodies drop off, leaving a huge chassis and engine kicking about. Seems like a bloody great idea.

Guest
I'm not normally into the 930 era nine eleven, but that green one is really cool. On the list.
oldford
That brings back memories of 25 years ago when I first saw that A60. He's brave parking it there, given that that area has had a fair few smashed up A60s in it over the years.
trigger
Well done for recognising where it is, that thought crossed my mind as well!, luckily it was car boot sale day!
Cavcraft
That Ballade looks suspiciously like my old one, and it was registered round here too. I'll have to try and see if I have any old pictures or details of it somewhere. It was a right old laugh, went like a rocket and a 100mph all the way to Doncaster and back for a football match with four fat blokes inside it was no bother. trigger
I also thought it was a Bentley but cartell and DVLA both confirm it's a Roller. Hhhmmm.Possibly something a bit funny there. Its even got Bentley wings on the back. It's a Bentley Speed Six replica built in 1990 by Bob Petersen based on a 1935 Rolls-Royce 20/25 chassis so I'm told.
seth
Seeing vintage Bentleys these days is roughly equivalent to seeing AC* Cobras. Nice spots Trig.
trigger
Last night i went to the 8 Ball Diner on the A12 to see what what all the fuss was about, It was the RR meet but it had been double booked by the Pistonhead fraternity, There was a few old cars there but most of them were modern sport/chav mobiles. My Kadett seemed slightly out of it's depth surrounded by all the Porsches and TVRs!. (Photo courtesy of the pistonheads forum) Sadly as the light was falling fast i only got a few shots and many of those were a bit fuzzy, here are a few of the best. 1979 Mitsubishi Colt GLX by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr 1979 Mitsubishi Colt GLX by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr 1979 Mitsubishi Colt GLX by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr This Colt was in stunning condition, it's only covered 33000 miles from new! 1972 Ford Cortina Van 347ci Mustang engine V8 by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr 1972 Ford Cortina Van 347ci Mustang engine V8 by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr 1972 Ford Cortina Van 347ci Mustang engine V8 by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr Nightmare's amazing sounding Cortina Van. trigger
That Datsun IS rather gorgeous! Whats the story behind it? Oldford would be best to ask as it is at his work, I think it was his bosses brothers, he had sold it and it was being collected today believe. I was really spanking though, a proper time warp motor. oldford
The Datsun hasn't been sold, it was getting collected so it can be recomissioned for the road. It's two previous keepers, both from the same family and both now deceased. It's been sitting in the back of the showroom for at least the past 6 months under a car cover. It is really quite original, even down to original dealer number plates, radio, electric aerial and separate cassette player which even has an analogue tape counter on it. About the only thing missing is the 280 badge from the back, which will be sorted, talking of badges, it's badged both as a Datsun and a Nissan.
